Resort fees...

• August 02, 2019 11:10 Three More Raise Resort Fees:

MGM Resorts International has raised the resort fee at Bellagio, Aria, and Vdara to $45 per night. That now equals the highest in town along with Wynn/Encore, Venetian/Palazzo, and Waldorf Astoria--- In today's Advisor Vega's news; - I find it hard to believe that people put up with and pay these asinine fees. Those who do must hate money.

That's why I stay at the 4 Queens!

The Golden Nugget is resort fee free through August 31.  That works perfectly for our groups August 29- Sept 1 trip.  Standard Carson Tower Double for $392 including taxes for the 3 nights over Labor Day weekend is pretty good.  I'm planning on doing most of my dining inside the Fremont East Entertainment District.  Carson Kitchen, Eat, Therapy, and American Brunch Cafe to name a few.  Several of us are staying in a Spa Suite, so most of our adult beverage consumption will happen at the blackjack tables and the suite.  The suite is perfect size to host our group of 16 Thursday night, and again to watch Purdue play football vs Nevada on Friday evening.  For our kickoff party, I'm getting pizza delivered from Good Pie.  I do plan to hit the "Halfy Hour" (4-7 every day) at the Downtown Cocktail Room.

26 sleeps and counting!

The TI will waive the fee even for low rollers & the parking is free

I've heard that some Las Vegas regulars have been declaring the money they are charged for resort fees on their income taxes as some type of pre-paid income tax.  At first it sounded very strange & like a hoax, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense.  The Government charges all citizens taxes, which are then used by "our representatives" to pay for things, even when some people don't use the things they eventually are paying for.  I guess the old saying "you can't fight city hall" referring to politicians & Government, also applies to the government-like management running of the Las Vegas resorts.

Sounds more than fishy to me.  A resort fee is not a tax.

Perhaps the "some" and their tax preparers can discuss this in the prison yard during an exercise break.  LOL.
