Suburban Denver, so far so good, thanks for asking. I saw there's a smaller one near Nucla, I hope it remains that way.

Good thing climate change is a liberal hoax, or these yearly massive wildfires would be alarming.

Hi Max. I have an update. The fire near Nucla is now 2900 acres with 0% containment. But it looks like the area could get some rain this upcoming week. I'm waiting for a day with a high under 100.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully they'll get it contained soon.
Quick update on the Lodg/Gilpin new player bonus, the second level at 250 tier points now earns a wheel spin for up to $500, I have no idea what the minimum is.
Also if anyone makes it to the Gilpin this month the pork tacos on the August specials are really good, just had them today! Cheers.

The Gilpin and Ameristar seem to be the best places for promos. Ameristar is the only place in town with VP over 99.5%---specifically, 9/6 JOB (if it's still there). Gilpin, unfortunately, has only garbage ($1 BP and .25 Airport Deuces). The Monarch has all garbage and the Z only has decent games at high denoms.
So it looks like the strategy would be to hit town on a Monday, play at Ameristar enough to get the free rooms promo, and join all the various players' clubs and play just enough to generate future offers. Looks like there are some decent senior days promos during the week as well.
It looks like room rates skyrocket and promos disappear on the weekends, which is predictable, given that the whole joint was built on the premise of Denverites racing uphill, waving their paychecks. I like the idea of being in the Rockies this time of year, so maybe going up there and jumping on some promos would be fun. I lived in Durango and then Wheat Ridge many years ago, and I loved exploring all the mountain back roads. Hopefully, the whole place won't be on fire when I go :(
I know that you will keep us posted on what you find. I have no doubt that you are correct that the information on many of the casinos is out of date. It looks like Monarch has a free night promo. Take care.

Bally's sent my wife a random mialer for a free cruise, we only vulture there, so I'm not sure why, we had to go up on Saturday to get the voucher and didn't stay to play. To add something to the trip we drove the "Oh my gawd road!", from Idaho Springs to Central City/Blackhawk, you can google it. It's paved on the Central City side turning into a dirt road on the Idaho Springs side, amazing views on the Idaho Springs side, takes 25 minutes if you go all the way. As you get into Idaho Springs the dirt road gets rutted and bumpy, a car can make it but it's a little rough. You could always turn around before going all the way down to Idaho Springs and head back to the casinos. Just an idea.

Thanks for the info. Since going last week was my first visit, I just used Central City Pkwy. I left Central City at 5 am so driving down that road in the dark was enough of an experience for me.
