CHICAGO, IL — (Satire) -- According to reports, black people trying to attend the DNC were turned away in droves as Democrats required photo IDs to enter the convention. Despite knowing that black people are not capable of obtaining photo IDs, Democrats inexplicably chose to require everyone in attendance to show identification, leaving thousands of black people unable to enter. "I wanted to come, but everyone knows I can't get an ID," said one black man who was refused entry to the DNC. "You'd think the Democrats would be aware of this fact. This must be some type of big plan to suppress our ability to attend the convention. It's a shame. I was looking forward to being here, but acquiring an official government-issued photo ID isn't something people like me can do. At least that's what I've heard." DNC officials offered conflicting comments on the controversy. "We would never want to discriminate," said DNC Chairman Jaime Harrison, who is also black. "We're here to stand up against the efforts of Republicans to keep the black population from voting by requiring them to show a photo ID, which is why we're gathering here in Chicago and requiring everyone who enters to show a photo ID." Were I a Black person, I would be incensed at whomever or however, or for what reason, this statement got published.  I don't know anything about the Babylon Bee.  Wouldn't want to know them; certainly would not subscribe.

The newest (of a total of three) casino to open in my state has required the showing of a DL (or presumably any photo ID or other ID that shows DOB) to enter since it opened, about 2-3 years ago.  Most recently it has been replace by the requirement to stand at a camera and your picture is made.  A casino employee is there to direct entry.  

I have never, never seen anyone, Black, White, Other, protest the ID requirement, whether the showing of the DL or other ID or stand in front of the camera.

My guess (and hope) is that the Babylon Bee is pretty much trash, not to be taken seriously.

The Babylon Bee is spectacularly unfunny once again! I mean, once you get past their headline, are there really any laughs?

Of course, right-wingers have a very hard time with comedy, don't they? Can you name an actually funny right-wing comedian? The reason for that is that right-wingers tend to punch down with their comedy, attacking the powerless (haha, those black folks can't get into the convention). Meanwhile, normal comedians tend to punch up, attacking those in power. Yesterday, John Stewart's bit on the convention featured Democratic attacks on sexual predators, and then he popped up a picture of Bill Clinton on the screen. It absolutely got the biggest laugh of the routine. 

Can you imagine a right-winger trying that same joke about Donald Trump? Not ever, right?

So the question is, why do right-wing "comedians" punch down? Because they are bullies. And why are they bullies? Because they are cowards. For right-wingers, it's their nature.
