Sanders Is Kicking Ass

The deficit was doubled under Obama. I can't understand why this is such a difficult concept for you.

The trillion dollar deficit & the future annual deficits are being driven in a huge part by SS & Medicare spending, which nobody wants to address.

That first statement is absolutely, 100% false, and Tom doesn't even understand why.

You can say that the huge deficits "are being driven" by spending on Social Security and Medicare, or you could say that they "are being driven" by Trump's tax cuts starving the government of revenue. Previous responsible and smart administrations knew that those programs had to be funded no matter what, then we would start talking about everything else. Dum-dum Trump thinks we can screw seniors out of the benefits they deserve and make up for it by bigly...something. God knows what.

Kevin is welcome to provide proof that my statement is false.

Pj - the Democrats SS plan after 14 months is still stuck in a sub-committee. No sense of urgency there.

There is no democrat plan for Medicare.

I'll second this.

This country doesn't seem to like the pendulum at the bottom of it's swing, they only like the far right swing or far left swing.

Here's the Dem Social Security plan with 200 sponcers that Tom says does not exist.   I cant find a link to the Republican alternative beyond Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump making statements that they will cut benefits.

Democrats put out Social Security solvency plan

So when Tom whines about Socialism and other peoples' money remember that the "Socialists" are the only ones who offer solutions to fiscal problems.     The alternative is just a bunch of crying from people like Tom who dont have an alternative.   Thats their solution to everything.     Bless their hearts.

I didn't say the SS plan doesn't exist. I said it has been in a subcommittee for 14 months, with no sense of urgency to move forward.

You said the Democrats have a Medicare plan. That plan doesn't exist.

Oooo!  Snap!  Good one, Tom.    The Democrats Bill isn't "urgent" enough.

Thats a whole new echelon of crying about nothing.   Democrats have a defined bill that has been scored and made available for public scrutiny....which is light years beyond anything the Republicans have done.

And as far as Medicare -  I've watched the debates.    Democrats have detailed plans for Medicare vs the  Orange-man's  "something wonderful thats gonna cover everybody and be way cheaper".     (That quote is his  plan in its most granular-detailed format).     Prior to that it was Mitch McConnell pointing to the empty box for 8 years under Obama.

But  its a well known fact Tom has different standards for each party (reference his history of whiny posts regarding golf).  Can somebody get that poor man a tissue?

If it has such great support, why hasn't it made it out of a subcommittee?

The only Medicare plan is MFA & it doesn't solve the problem of the unfunded liability & in fact ignores the problem.

The economy is doing great, thanks to the sugar high from the sugar coated policies initiated by Trump. Corporate tax breaks and tax breaks for the wealthy.  The Libertarian in me agrees with deregulation, seeing first hand the fiasco, with over regulation in the energy sector.  Any republican elected would have implemented deregulation, which would have stimulated the economy.  If we're lucky enough to get a Dem elected.   Results of Trump's undiciplined handling of the tax reform, They will face a real challenge when taking away the sweets given to the wealthy and Corporations without suffering some negative effect on the economy.

Lastly, normally the national debt gets healthy when the economy is booming, ( it did under Clinton), because of increased tax revenue.  Under Trump, the debt has increased during his tenure because of his policies.

It enjoys a helluva lot more support than the non-existant Republican alternative bill.    I'm sorry it doesn't get a high enough grade on your crybaby urgency-o-meter.

And here's another cost saver that Tom can cry about.   Price negotiation with Medicare drugs (like every other public and private insurer does on the planet).  Its the lowest hanging fruit in the budget.   Moscow Mitch says its Dead on arrival despite bipartisan support.

Pharma gets to name their own price for drugs   and Republicans will gladly pay it with other peoples' money.

And Tom waves his pom-poms while warning about Democrats and money.
