SCOTUS obeys the law for a change

The Supreme Trump Court has just ruled that it doesn't have the authority to order states to stop redistricting--the state in question being Trump vs. California.

This of course also validates Tay-ucks-ass's No Democrat Congressional Representatives crusade. The major distinction is that CA voted, while TX decreed. But I agree that the feds can't and shouldn't either encourage or attempt to stop redistricting/gerrymandering. It's fundamentally a state issue.

If any state wants to become purely partisan, it should be allowed to. I for one am in favor of trading all of Oregon's MAGAs for an equivalent number of Democrats who are refugees from Tay-ucks-ass.

America would be wonderful if we stuffed all the bucktoothed freeloaders into Red State Land and slammed the door.

Weird, I thought you said SCOTUS spent its time tonguing orange balls.  What happened?

They realized folks that make excuses for Trump and paper over him breaking the law on a daily basis are worthless cucks just like some of folks here.

I view it as SCOTUS realizing that if they ruled California's redistricting unlawful, that decision could be used to stop the much more numerous and egregious Republican redistricting. Or at least slow it down until after the midterms.

Something in one of the MAGA judges' opinions--I think it was Roberts--alluded to the fact that the CA redistricting was approved by voters, suggesting that the Texas and other red state moves were more vulnerable to challenges, having been enacted by decree rather than democratic process.

Also, given that the Republipigs are the ones doing most of the gerrymandering, they probably didn't want to suggest that states don't have the power to redraw their own district maps.

Of course, in a few years, they'll rule that blue states can't redistrict but red states can.
