No. There isn't. The the "correct" way moving forward that I was alluding to would be in direct contrast with the apparent current plans.
It would look something like helping the country hold free and fair elections as soon as possible. (perhaps with assistance from NATO or the UN). Then getting out and leaving the Venezuelan people to control their own destiny.
Even when we had much more honorable intentions in similar situations, the end result was that withdrawing gracefully was like pulling our boots out of deep, sticky mud.
I can foresee not all Venezuelans being happy with Trump's occupation and looting and some of them having guns. Then some American soldier gets shot and Trump responds by bombing an apartment building or something. All pretense of helping the Venezuelan people is discarded as our armed forces hunt down the "terrorists." It won't even look like Iraq or Afghanistan. It'll look like Poland in 1940.
