Religious laws in general or not compatible with Western society. 

The man gave a warning we would all be wise to pay attention to. 

While I am welcoming of people of all religions I draw the line where religion tries to interfere with or control laws. 

I really don't see much chance of Sharia law being incorporated into our justice system. I just don't see it happening. 

I'm glad the gentleman in the video was able to escape it. 

Biblical law is very similar to Sharia law and the MAGA coalition has managed to inject a lot of it into our laws. For example, Justice Alito based his opinion overturning Roe based on Biblical law.

MAGAs have also managed to get private religious based schools taxpayer dollars now. That is an afront to our constitution.  Not to mention we are churning out a lot of young adults that simply can't perform in the real world because their parents put the priority on biblical education rather than employable skills. 

I agree that religion based laws have no business in Western First world countries. Unfortunately, that's what majority party wants.

Religion interferes with, controls, and has originated many, many of our laws in our so-called "freedom of religion" democracy. I don't think I have to point out the history of religion in our racial, gender, and even financial and medical laws and customs. We don't have freedom of or from religion. Not at all.

Re Sharia law: I point to the world's societies where Sharia law persists and where it once existed but no longer does. In events such as the "Arab Spring," many nations that were under Sharia law moved towards a more secular society. Some remained mired in an authoritarian state. So while many who live under Sharia law do so unwillingly, for the most part, the people have decided which path to take.

We have to acknowledge that a certain portion of humanity likes authoritarianism and absolutism. Many of those who live under Sharia law, or in a rigidly Christian household, or in a country run by a dictator, like the United States, cherish and crave the stability that brings, or at least the illusion thereof.

Remember when David cried his eyes out because Joe Biden stopped propping up the Sharia Law warlords in Afgahanistan?

Yeah - he was as passionate about that as his crybaby rants about Obama's Iran deal that unlocked their money.
