There were dozens of excellent reasons to do that pre-Covid.
Apparently Ron DeSantis is getting quite a lot of resistance to his no-mask and no-vaccine orders. Schools are saying fuck him, we're going to require our students to wear masks; in return, he's said he will cut off superintendents' and principals' pay (which he has absolutely no right to do).
DeSantis dreams of becoming Trump Lite. But acting against the interests of his constituents in order to score points with the base isn't going to help him--quite the opposite.
The reason to nuke Florida is that they elect people like this sack of shit. Killing people to advance his political career. What a disgusting asshole.
The reason to nuke Texas is that turning the entire place radioactive would provide Texans with a source of warmth when the power goes out again next winter.
