DePape broke into the Pelosi house with the intent of doing Nancy harm and encountered Paul.  The two spent some time in garbled conversation with DePape mumbling conspiracy theories and Paul almost incoherent until Paul was able to call 911 and the police showed up.  Paul let the cops in but instead of running out the door he walked back inside and got smacked with the hammer.  He did this because he was drunk off his ass and didn't really know what he was doing.  He was hit with a hammer because DePape is crazy.

 

No one should be hit in the head with a hammer and I hope the perp is punished to the full extent of the law and then deported.  I don't hold Republicans responsible for this attack any more than Democrats hold Bernie Sander's responsible for James Hodgkinson nearly killing Steve Scalise while hunting Republicans at the charity baseball practice.  Smearing all Republicans as violent political extremists because of the actions of a single drug crazed nudist activist is as valid as smearing all Democrats as violent extremist mass shooting terrorists. 

 

As for the Illegal Canadian immigrant...we all know Canada doesn't sneak in their best and brightest.  If you want to fix this, you have to deal with untreated severe mental illness prevalent in America.  No amount of Democrat virtue signaling, political smears or censoring of conspiracy theories is going to spark an iota of change in this kind of violent behavior...not even banning attack hammers.
