It won't be fair, but I expect that virtually all of those "swing" voters who went Trump-crazy in 2024 will move away from MAGA. They all blamed Biden for the higher price of radishes, even though it wasn't his fault; they'll likewise blame the Turd for the higher price of everything, and it WILL be his fault.

Those voters, numbering about 5-10%, depending on how you define them, have decided the last three elections. As we remain sharply polarized and divided, I don't see much movement in the other 90%. Nothing Trump/MAGA does, no matter how horrible, could ever alienate the cult; likewise, nothing they do could make up for the shit they've already done.

The scales will fall from the eyes of people who voted with their wallets, only to have Trump, laughing, reach out and seize them.

I'll save this asinine, lying response to post after the forthcoming 2026 and 2028 elections. I will enjoy doing so to, once again, prove that Lewis is a liar.

You may be onto something if Trump is allowed to run amok, unabated.  He's really trying to summon up his inner "Andrew Jackson", and pretty much do whatever he wants.  It's crazy that people can't see what he is doing.

  Then you must be crazy.

I think there's plenty of buyer's remorse out there already, especially on the part of the fools who went MAGA because of "Bidenflation" or not wanting to vote for a WOOMUN for President. But to express that remorse would be for them to admit that they made a stupid (stupid, stupid, stupid) choice. So they're holding their breath and twiddling their thumbs and hoping that adding 20 percent or more to the price of all imports somehow won't raise the price of consumer goods.

So because of this self-imposed breath-holding, those idiots who went Trump aren't being heard from...yet. As I said, we'll hear from them in 2026 and 2028.

I do have one apprehension--that the Democrats will nominate someone who isn't white, isn't straight, or isn't male. I personally don't care about race, gender, or sexual orientation, but polls have consistently shown that 5% of the electorate won't vote for a woman, a gay/LGBTQ person, or a nonwhite person for President. And if the Democrats handicap themselves again, that 5% might be too difficult to overcome.

Anyway, Trump going berserk was pretty predictable. After all, when he gets away with several dozen felonies, multiple sexual assaults, billions of dollars in fraud, high treason, and blatant disregard for the law and the Constitution---why wouldn't he think that he can, in fact, do whatever the hell he wants?

Oh, please - quit with the stupidity.

A big giveaway was when he threw an enraged tantrum over Josh Hawley (R) bringing that bill forward that would keep future Presidents from trading stocks. Hawley couldn't understand why Trump was so mad at him as it didn't go into effect until after Trump's term ends.  Trump was enraged because he isn't planning on leaving once his term expires.

He is debasing the White House with all of his gold plated bullshit that is going into his big expensive ballroom expansion. He isn't doing all that work decorating it in his style because he plans to leave once it is finished. He is making it in his style because he is planning on staying.

They say the first coup attempt is a dress rehearsal for the next one. Why do you think he took control of the DC police and mobilized the National Guard?

Every time I think his dictator wannabe shit is just hot air, he does something that strongly suggests he really believes he can do it and has actual plans to that effect.

That's all kevin ever talks about

If you want to take out your crayons, though, simply calculate US imports from the tariffed countries (using 2024 figures), multiply the amounts by the individual tariffs, and divide by the portion of GDP that imports represent. That's already been done by dozens of economists, but I'll let you come up with your own answer.

Here is the answer.

$14.3T GDP; imports are 25% or $3.575T.  10% tariff is $357B or 2.5% of GDP

I agree with the prediction that if all the Trumpiffs remain in force, annualized inflation for the month of December will exceed 10%. By then, the Trumpiffs will have fully crippled the US economy.

Stupid kevin (in the past kevin has claimed to be an economics major) has been screaming about runaway inflation for 6 months and it hasn't happened.
