Tom, of course, I do. The Nashville mayor did the right thing. She resigned and pled guilty. The Governor has not despite overwhelming evidence that includes an audio recording and the actual images he took of the victim. My point was that the underlying charges in his case are more serious. If he is found guilty, he will be on the sex offender registry for the rest of his life. I don’t think he will be a very effective Governor with these types of charges hanging over his head, so for the good of his state, he ought to resign. In the old days, when Republicans still had some sort of morals, Republican office holders in the state collectively would have went to the Governor and insisted that he resign.
Instead the official response of the Republican party from the state of Missouri is that this is all a grand conspiracy directed by George Soros. (That is really what their first official response was.)
