One term that is used within these articles is "executive time".  This concept will baffle Kevin, as he's never held a job which requires such work, discussion, short unsceduled meetings, phone calls, etc.  While I'm now in the twilight of my career and only working four hours a day, for many years I worked 50 hours a week and longer in my early years on the job.  About half of my time has always been on the road for customer meetings, and the other half of my work could be referred to as executive time.  For me that includes setting appoints, talking with chemists about the status of projects and tweaking my suggestions as needed, arranging for price quotes, reviewing product application and technical data, unschedule supplier meetings, handling any sort of problem and more.

Yesterday he had a photo op at a small business.  After the conclusion of the op, the press started to shout questions.  Biden stood about 30 feet away from the press while the puppet masters then told the press they had to leave.  Once again he didn't answer questions.
