Sleepy to pull 180 million barrels of crude from our reserves

First off, this stuff is meant to true emergencies.

I was watching CNN and they were reporting this during a new conference.  They never mentioned anything about how much the US uses per day.  They didn't bother to give the idiot Liberals a perspective, and we know that Libs are too lazy to reseach this info on their own.

Kevin, how long will Sleepy's oil from resereves run American refineries.  More importantly, what happens if we really need an energy surge.......like a war?

I'll be curious to see if Kevin does any research.  History isn't on his side.

The reserves used to be a huge matter of national security when we primarily relied upon volatile countries in the middle east for our oil supply.   That is no longer the case.  If we have a "true emergency" we can tap our domestic supply.

We've opened the supply during high oil prices many times in the past - including under Republican presidents.  George Bush actually did open the strategic reserve while we were in the middle of a war.

Dont bother trying to find any post from Boilerman critizing him either.

Opening the strategic reserve is really the only direct thing the president can do to lower oil prices.

So what do you tell people who cry about Joe not doing enough to lower prices....and then crying about doing the only thing he can do on that front?  I dont tell them anything - I just point and laugh.

This stupidity by Biden is asinine. Margaret Thatcher, former Prime Minister of Britian, stated that "the only thing wrong with Socialism, is eventually you run out of other people's money". The same goes for the current gasoline shortage - robbing oil reserves ( focus on the word "reserves") to offset Biden's ruination of America's oil producing capabilities, is insanity. Depleting the oil reserves (  which President Trump took a media beating for building up while oil was cheap) is going to cost America greatly as America will be forced to import more high priced oil from OPEC and Venezuela , further bankrupting America. This is madness. Don't agree? What did you pay for gas last time you filled up? Well, get ready, for gasoline prices will only get higher as the DemocRats continue to ruin America. Remember, those of you who voted for Biden, YOU voted for this.

PJ, I always stop reading at sentence one or two.  During a war, we can't get oil from Russia.  Any international shipping would be nearly impossible.  Crude from the US, Canada and Mexico would be secure.

We need the reserve volumes.  We need more US production.  At minimum, we need more oil from Mexico and Canada.

Then Why did we do it during the Iraq/Afghan Wars ?  By a Republican president no less?  And why couldn't you bring yourself to have the same objection then as now?

You have a different opinion depending on who is in office.   That really sounds like your massive problem with hypocrisy, not Joe's.

Um, because they guy was or horrible guy with chemical weapons.  I don't give me the story that he didn't after a year's opportunity to hide them.

That war was never over oil.

Once again, you ignore the elephant in the room.  Where do we get oil from, let's say if an international war happens.  Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Venezuala?  How about we just get it from home.

Yeah, how about that?   Except we do.    We are a net exporter of oil and gas.  Where have you been the last 10 years?

The strategic reserve was set up in the wake of the 1970's oil embargo when we were not energy independant.

We are now.

What other well known, basic facts can I help you with today?

Isn't it laughable how Boiler the Fossil Fuel Expert doesn't know the most basic, elementary facts about the US energy markets?

From pj

Now the facts

The U.S. will import more oil than it exports in 2022, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Friday. "We forecast that the United States will continue to import more crude oil than it exports in 2022, reaching an estimated annual average of 3.9 million b/d," the EIA said in a statement on Friday.

PJ said "gas and oil," stupid Tommie-poo.
