We all thought it was coming. The RepubliQ would win the House and the Senate, the Orange Pusbag or one of his clones would take over the White House, and fascism and darkness would descend on the land. It looked inevitable.
But then the RepubliQ's most formidable enemy stepped into the fray--the RepubliQ! First they "won" their Handmaid's Tale abortion crusade, then they went on record as opposing every single aspect of Biden's bill, including a lot of stuff they and their constituents actually want. The result of the latter is that they looked like fools, and more importantly, that they don't give a shit about the people they purport to serve.
These blunders are costing them big time. Overall, RepubliQ House and Senate candidates have suffered a 5-6% average drop in polling since the end of June. And in all but the worst dead-red goober states, a 5% shift is more than enough to swing an election. Even Moscow Mitch admits that the Democrats may actually GAIN seats in the Senate--an almost unthinkable outcome a few months ago?
So what happened? Apparently, moderate Republican women (the ones not absolutely soaked in the Kool-aid) are abandoning ship. Also, seniors are defecting, since the bill contains many provisions that will help them and the RepublQ bitterly opposed.
So I'd like to sincerely thank the asshole RepublQ for being really. Fucking. Stupid.
