So Donnie Is Guilty. What Now?

You don't KNOW me at all, Stalker. Nor do you know much of anything else.

I know you are a hateful, insulting, unredeeming liar - that is all anyone needs to know about you.

Davy, it so much fun watching your meltdown.

Stalker is having a cow and it must be extremely painful as it slowly exits his ass. His golden one is going dowwwwwn and there's nothing he can do about it.

That's all you got?   Ha,Ha,Ha,Ha,.......

The village idiot's new theme song, "they'er coming to take me away ha ha ho ho he he to the funny farm".

Poor old DonDiego has been occupied with personal matters, . . . nothing negative or unpleasant, . . . over the last week or so, . . . and has not commented on the latest furor over the current President of the United States and hia relations with Ukraine.

DonDiego opines that a treaty by representatives of the United States and Ukraine may be pertinent, specifically: The Treaty Between the United states of America and Ukraine on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, . . . signed at Kiev on 22 July 1998 and ratified by the US Senate in 2000.

A brief article, Civil War On, suggests that:

"Perhaps, under the year 2000 treaty, Mr. Trump was within his rights to ask the new President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, for assistance on [earlier collusion with Russia]. And also, the question of former vice-president Joe Biden’s levering US aid to Ukraine in his demand to fire the prosecutor investigating the company, Burisma Holdings, that just happened to hire his son, Hunter, to a $64,000-a-month seat on the board of directors, not long after the younger Mr. Biden was kicked out of the US Navy reserve for cocaine use — what a sterling fellow!"

Anyway, it's a good read.

It all comes down to whether Trump used his influence with Ukraine--financial or political--to urge them to investigate Biden's son because he was truly concerned with Hunter Biden's possible misconduct and wanted them to investigate it--or he perceived a growing political threat from Joe Biden and was trying to seek assistance to compromise him. The Fox News narrative is the former.

An objective assessment suggests the latter. First of all, Trump solicited Russia to aid (successfully, it seems) in smearing Hillary Clinton, a prior political opponent. And since it worked and had relatively minor repercussions, he no doubt reasoned the tactic would work a second time.

Also, it strains credulity to think that Trump just spontaneously came storming in on his white horse to eradicate a terrible corruption scandal that supposedly occured in another country. Cracking down on corruption hasn't exactly been a priority for the Trump administration.

The attack agaist Joe Biden presumes that the real reason he went after Shokin was that he was afraid that Shokin would "investigate" Hunter Biden. However, there are two errors in that premise. One, Biden was on a multinational mission to get Shokin ousted. Most of the EU wanted that to happen, too, and they, along with the US, made the aid offered Ukraine contingent on it. Also, Biden was not acting on his own initiative--he had been directed to make the threat by President Obama. Two, Ukraine said that Hunter Biden was not guilty of wrongdoing. Being named to the board of a company isn't against the law, there or here. Therefore, Biden had no need or incentive to do anything to protect his son.

i realize, of course, that Trumpers, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, etc. etc. etc. will disregard logic and reality and continue to throw up smoke in defense of Trump. However, the evidence we have (the doctored transcript, the testimony of the whistleblower, corroboration from other WH aides) certainly compels further investigation and is definitely alarming. The simple fact of the matter is that it is not only illegal but reprehensible to use US taxpayer dollars to extort/bribe another country for personal political gain.

Ultimately, this will be only one piece in the puzzle. Trump's overall behavior in office will be the real issue in the impeachment hearings. It should be noted by everyone that impeachable behavior does not have to include criminal acts.

Threatening to withhold aid to a country that is fighting to maintain independance from Russian aggression into Western Europe ?   And for no reason beyond helping a  political campaign?

Thats not just collusion.   Thats treason.   And that meet's DonDiego's symantical definition of that term.

Our president officially used the national security interests of the UNited States as leverage for negotiation to get dirt on a political opponent.    Thats not just an abuse of power - thats a security threat to the whole country.   (and the fact  he desperately tried to hide the transcript of the call to a heavily restricted location demonstrates consciousness of guilt).

So it doesn't really matter if you want to chase the birthers' next conspiracy theory regarding Joe Biden's son.  It does not excuse a president using our foreign policy as stick-and-carrot to do so.

As to Don Diego's point, I'd suggest he read this article.

Trump Was Repeatedly Warned That Ukraine Conspiracy Theory Was ‘Completely Debunked

WASHINGTON — WASHINGTON — President Trump was repeatedly warned by his own staff that the Ukraine conspiracy theory that he and his lawyer were pursuing was “completely debunked” long before the president pressed Ukraine this summer to investigate his Democratic rivals, a former top adviser said on Sunday.

Thomas P. Bossert, who served as Mr. Trump’s first homeland security adviser, said he told the president there was no basis to the theory that Ukraine, not Russia, intervened in the 2016 election and did so on behalf of the Democrats. Speaking out for the first time, Mr. Bossert said he was “deeply disturbed” that Mr. Trump nonetheless tried to get Ukraine’s president to produce damaging information about Democrats.

Trump extorted Ukraine to investigate and produce evidence of a conspiracy that never existed according to experts on his own staff. This is what you get into when you have a mentally impaired President that is driven by paranoia and narcissism. These impairments prevent him from understanding the difference between facts and the fiction he is exposed to on conspiracy-driven cable TV opinion shows.  Trump is unfit for office as his impairments deny him the self-control to refrain from committing crimes and misconduct on a daily basis.

It would be best for everyone if Trump resigns and gets the mental help he so badly needs.
