The number of weapons confiscated means nothing without context.
"Violent crime has been surging" is a false statement in most cases. But to say that any surge in crime is due to a lack of stop-and-frisk...well, that's just fucking stupid. Even if there is a surge in crime, correlation is not causation.
"Allows prisons to be closed" means that old, obsolete facilities are being shut down. Those places cost lots of money to run compared to more modern facilities. Gee, I thought stupid Tommie-poo was a fiscal conservative.
A DA may decline to prosecute a crime for any of a number of reasons, and politics doesn't have jack shit to do with it. Prosecutions also cost money, which cities don't have an unlimited supply of. If the DA prosecuted every single crime to its conclusion, stupid Tommie-poo's taxes would have to go up.
Stupid Tommie-poo fantasizes about a society where being black is illegal and can get you stopped by the police at any time.
