The study is early 2018, but the data is from 2016 & early 2017.  Guess who was president in 2016?

"The study is early 2018, but the data is from 2016 & early 2017.  Guess who was president in 2016?" ---- That would be PJ's Daddy Obeyme.

Oh golly geez PJ, I am republican and have no desire for anyone to work in Communist China conditions! You sure assume alot of shit when bundling all republicans together. I thought this is what you disagree with many here on opinions of Muslims.

I really have no desire to leave my country for any of the ones you have listed. We really have a pretty damn good life here in the ole USA. I want nothing to do with the socialist views of many democrats which WILL make our country to change for the worse.

Lol, you listed the countries PJ.  So throw in China and Russia for a size comparison......oh, that's right, that doesn't fit your flawed narrative.

Russia and China were communist, not socialist.  Russia is currently an Authoritarian oligarchy with a former KGB agent serving as President for life.  Modern day Russia is the Trumparian vision of utopia. The Oligarchs including the President deal themselves in on any sizeable business enterprise in the country even the criminal ones.

China is still largely authoritarian communist where the President, a Communist Party member, serves as President for life. The communist Chinese government takes an ownership share in any sizable business.  Oddly enough, it is the mainstream Republican (non-Trumparian) version of utopia where workers are forced to live in dorms adjacent to the factories they work in surrounded by suicide nets. Mitt Romney spoke with great admiration of the Chinese "capitalist" system in his book and said the U.S. needs to emulate this model.  In fact, he was so enamored with their system, when he asked what the nets were surrounding the worker dorms he believed the Chinese officials when they answered they were fences that were put up to keep all the people that were eager to find work away from the factories. They claimed without the "fences" people would just show up and start working. Romney lamented that American workers didn't have the same spunk as these Chinese workers.  I pick on Mitt but other mainstream Republicans have expressed a similar infatuation with the Communist Chinese business model.

Republicans also love the coal-fired power plants and the unregulated emissions from all those factories.  Pollution is so bad citizens going outdoors in Chinese cities have to wear face masks.  U.S. travelers to Chinese cities are often advised to buy a pollution mask and avoid going outdoors.  As I said, Communist China is a regular Republican Shangri-La.

So somewhat ironically, while conservatives want to clutch their pearls over Western European style socialism they often express a preference for communist-style authoritarianism.

So, yes, by all means, let's include them in the discussion.

I like it here too!

So so tell me.   Do you take issue with all the socialist policies Trump has implemented as detailed in my previous post?   Or is socialism only awful when Democrats implement it?

The tariffs were placed on China to force them to the negotiating table over their protectionist trade policies as well as their intellectual theft.  They are currently negotiating.  The soybean subsidy was to protect the soybean farmers until the China issue is resolved.

Ford as well as others are phasing out sedans because they make more money with SUVs & trucks

No - Ford specifically said the Focus will not be available in the UNited States because of the Tariffs.

Ain't the internet great?

And you did a great job of summarizing the motivations behind Trump's socialist trade actions.   That doesn't make them any less socialist, does it?    I dont think "Socialism" is a four letter word.   And clearly you dont either - at least when your leadership implements it.

People who pigeon-hole themselves into one ideology isolate themselves from the full range of possible solutions to any problem.   "Socialism" has become the tea-parties favorite word to demagogue the left.  but they frequently embrace it too.   Trump is proof.
