Somali Fraud in Minnesota

This was known since 2019 -  What has happened in Minnesota is one of the biggest taxpayer fraud scandals in history. The Feeding Our Future case involved approximately $250 million stolen, with around 78 indictments in that scheme alone (and related fraud probes pushing totals higher). These schemes are overwhelmingly tied to the Somali community in Minnesota. Most of the indicted individuals in the Feeding Our Future case are from that community—and not just random people, but often community leaders or figures. That obviously doesn’t implicate everyone in that community, but there is nothing wrong with noting that fact; in fact, it’s actually important to do so. Why? Because it is central to understanding what happened in Minnesota. A big part of the reason this fraud went on for so long and so much was stolen was that the fraudsters specifically cited their Somali heritage and used their connections to shut down investigations by claiming discrimination. A lot of people don’t realize this, but the Minnesota Department of Education actually identified likely fraud as early as 2019 (pre-pandemic). But when they tried to stop payments or tighten oversight, the fraudsters claimed discrimination. They even filed a lawsuit in 2020, and court actions (including a judge’s rulings on processing delays and payments) effectively forced the MDE to resume or continue payments at times. All because they pretended that this was really about them being Somali, instead of the fact that they were committing massive fraud.” -- https://www.facebook.com/watch?v=1682970162682284

There is no such thing as "Somali fraud," any more than if a French person commits fraud, it's "French fraud." The term is grossly racist and disgusting.

You MAGAs are horrid.

For as long as there has been government subsidies, there has been fraud and corruption therewith.

The matter should be investigated. If there is evidence of criminal activity, those responsible should be charged and brought to trial.

That being said if I ran a perfectly legitimate daycare, with absolutely nothing to hide, Im not letting the cops or government in sans warrant or appointment. So I am definitely not talking to some random member of the public or press.

Even if I scheduled some sort of inspection, I would notify the parents and give them an opportunity to not have their child present. I would view it as my ethical responsibility to protect the kids from random members of the public, press, or government.

If I had a kid in daycare and I found out they granted access to some random government agent, the press, or member of the public without the permission of the parents of children present I would not bring my kid back.

I'd also like to point out the MAGA "influencer" who made these claims has been caught paying people to make false claims in his videos in the recent past. And this conservative con man sure suckered David Miller right along.

This was nothing more than a 23 year old YouTube "influencer" trying to work his passage by creating videos that might appeal to MAGA conspiracy theorists. He pounded on the doors of child care centers and demanded to be allowed inside to count the number of children there. When he was refused, as he knew he would be, he stepped outside and recorded a statement that he had just "proved" that there weren't any children inside. He did this dozens of times and cobbled together a video about all the "fraud" he had "exposed."

And by great good luck, Trump saw and fell in love with his video. Trump saw it as a way to obtain "retribution" against Minnesota, a state he hates since Walz ran against him and they voted Democrat. That's it. No factual basis for those claims whatsoever. But Miller, of course, lapped it all up.

The child influencer is making big bucks now. He's a professional liar.
