This is the second nuisance suit Trump has filed. In both instances, the article in question was labeled opinion. Trump pulls these sorts of stunts to get conservatives to wet their knickers. He needs distractions given how badly he has handled covid-19.
Trump has defamed and lied about CNN hundreds of times, but they haven't sued him. They know that the best way to deal with a screaming toddler is to ignore him.
DonDiego mischaracterizes this issue as a dispute between equally credible opponents. In reality, CNN is a respected news source and Trump is a pathological liar.
I cling to the hope that DonDiego doesn't seriously equate the credibility of the two parties. I also hope that he realizes that in any situation wherein one of two parties is lying, and Trump is one of those parties, there's a roughly 99.9% probability that Trump is the one who's lying.
Otherwise, I mourn for the tragically deceased cognitive ability and morality of poor old DonDiego.
Lies are pretty easy to sort through in this day and age. The internet makes it pretty easy to get to the truth.
Larry Noble is being sued by Donny Treason for staing this:
"Noble also wrote that the campaign “assessed the potential risks and benefits of again seeking Russia’s help in 2020 and has decided to leave that option on the table.”"
Now - I understand its an unflattering thing to say. And the thin-skinned coward in the white house hates to be insulted. But Trump went on national TV and said to the world he would accept Russian intelligence again in 2020 if it became available to him. Being constipated about it doesn't make it less true.
Our president on the record regarding the thing he is suing libel for
Oh, and uh - thanks for stopping by !
Trump should drop the suit. CNN and MSNBC have been taking things hes said out of context and as off the cuff jokes as gospel since he was elected. Fox has done the same with Nancy, Bernie, Chuck, and the rest. Most people can see through the bull. The rest repeat the falsehoods on social media.
Nothing Trump said about accepting help from Russia again in 2020 was out of context or a joke.
It was a direct quesiton put to him in the wake of the Mueller Report.. in an interview discussing the Mueller Report. He was asked pointedly if a foregin country offered help again would he accept it...and he said yes, he absolutely would.
ANd its no longer even a speculative manner given what we know he did in Ukraine and what Rudi Giulliani is currently doing there on his behalf.
Sometimes the truth is not friendly to a politician. THat doesn't mean thats its contrived or a hit piece done by partisan hacks. We've entered a society now where the president is no longer accountable for his own recorded words because people dont like the media who gave it to them
DonDiego can only hope the Courts can sort it out and determine the truth.
This area of law is well settled. Trump is the most public figure in America. Trump has no grounds to sue. He is simply a snowflake.

If I was President and Russia contacted us and said we have info that Bernie is dealing with Venezuela and making plans to hack the election I would want to know and pass the info on to the FBI. Is there something wrong with that? As I said most people can see through the partisan bull......some people can't
Huh?
Talk about out of context - you've just provided a new strawman argument outside the national, televised interview Trump gave and is now suing CNN for reporting on. You've gone from suggesting Trump was taken out of context to defending him from a fictional scenario that was never discussed.
Thanks for stopping by.
Oh and uh, welcome back, ALanLeroy.
