I think it should be Mexico. Or the oil revenues from Iraq
I think that able bodied Americans should pay for their own shit.
Did you pay for grammar and high school? Do you pay to use the library? Do you pay to use the city streets? Do you pay to have your food and medications inspected? Do you pay for weather satellites that let you know when a storm is coming?
You must be paying the government for all those things, because otherwise, you'd be getting, y'know, free shit. And that would be against your principles.
Kevin, I pay far more taxes than I ever come close to consuming in government services. This means that I pay for all of the shit that I use (and much more), meaning that it's not free. I'm likely paying for your free shit.

I doubt that very much. You're not taking into account all the massive amounts of free shit you've gotten since the day you were born.
You freeloading bum!

My father paid much more in taxes than our family ever consumed in government expenses for free shit. Not one person in my family (parents, me, my three brothers, six nieces and nephews, plus my two kids) has ever received food stamps, unemployment, Obama phones, or any free shit giveaways. Nope, my family has paid much more than we've ever received. You might just say "Thank you!"
Boiler, you are wrong. This was never billed as free shit, to begin with. Under Obamacare, the government contracted to pay these payments. When the bill came due, conservatives decided to breach that contract by pulling a Trump and simply not paying the contractors. It is one of the reasons premiums and out of pockets went up more than expected.
As you recall, I was never big on Obamacare because it attempted to retain a "private" aspect by involving insurance companies when the government could have done it by itself much more efficiently. Nevertheless, these were contracts made by the U.S. government and deadbeat Republicans can't simply cancel them by not paying the bill. I suspect with the added interest these insurance companies will get payouts that will be much higher than if the deadbeat conservatives had simply paid the bills when they came due.

Sorry. You've consumed FAR more than the average family's worth of "free shit," and that would exceed the taxes you paid if you were honest enough to add it all up.
Your family paid low taxes because the tax rates for families with multiple dependents are less. All those kids went to free shit school. They all used the free shit library. They drove or were driven on free shit roads. You got free shit government benefits such as the FDA, NOAA, and other government agencies making sure your food and drugs were safe and you had warnings about approaching bad weather. If you experienced a natural disaster, FEMA would have given you free shit to get you back on your feet. The FAA gave you free shit every time you flew--you didn't pay for control tower or flight services. The police and fire departments gave you free shit protection, and they never billed you.
All that adds up to far more than the tiny amounts you paid in taxes--whether you want to admit it or not. As I said, you and your entire family are freeloaders. Good thing you're not black, or you'd have no choice but to kill yourself, given your racist principles.
You're also stupidly wrong about what you call "Obama phones," but we've already pointed that out to you. Face it: you and your family are leeches, mooches, parasites, and freeloaders. You've received millions of dollars' worth of free shit and only paid a nickel on the dollar in return. You should be run out of the country for all your freeloading behavior.

Oh, I almost forgot, anyone in Boiler's family, including Boiler himself, has been getting free shit if they've been collecting social security benefits for more than one year, as that's when the amount you receive becomes equal to what you paid in. I trust that Boiler, with his principled stand against free shit, will be tearing up those checks.
Obamacare isn't free shit; it's a federally guaranteed health insurance exchange. People pay premiums just like they do with private insurance. The tax credits mean that your income AFTER paying for health insurance is what is taxed. It realizes the fact that a person earning $X really earns only $X - (what it takes to keep that person alive). The standard deduction was created with that realization, but it didn't take healthcare expenses into account, as at the time, people paid as they went for medical services.
I am grossed out by the utter hypocrisy of Republicans doing everything they could think of to sabotage Obamacare and then saying it isn't working. Whatever failures it is experiencing are due to frantic Republican efforts to keep it from working, including, as you said, simply not paying the bills.
This kind of evil, thieving shit from Republicans is becoming the norm.
