Very accurate, in that Trump has been learning how to be a dictator at the feet of the master for some time now.
Trump really really envies Putin's ability to just disappear the people he doesn't like--journalists, opposition politicians, etc. Trump, if he could, would have Joe Biden and the entire staff of the New York Times whacked.
There's another element of accuracy, in that Trump has been trying to build a Fantasy Island for his base ever since he "won" the election. The crap he tells them has no basis in reality, but they scarf it up and ask for more. Come to Trump Island and kiss the real world goodbye!

Free speech is not absolute. Hate speech is not protected. Inciting a riot is not protected. Speech that causes harm, demeans or insults people, or incites racial hatred is not protected.
Free speech has never meant "say whatever you want under any circumstances." I'm sure you're familiar with the example of shouting "FIRE!" in a crowded theater.
But given your passionate devotion to free speech, I'm sure you've been continually outraged by Trump saying he wants to have news organizations shut down and reporters arrested. Obviously, you won't be voting for him this year.
Also, Boiler, NO ONE is calling for socialism. Some of the candidates want democratic socialism, which is NOT the same thing at all. You need to educate yourself.

Liberals believe that any speech that they disagree with is hate speech, it's racist, it's sexist, it something. And Liberals believe that this speech should be stopped. In the context of a president who has the most government intervention in our economy in modern history Republicans continue to warn us about socialism. And in the context of Donald Trump cozying up to every eastern dictator and insulting every western democratic ally, Republicans warn us about the dangers of communism.
The only thing more hilarious is when they warn you about Democrats playing golf and creating deficits.
