Spring in Yellowstone

Most of the park is closed in winter, but it normally starts to open in April. By Memorial Day, the human hordes are swarming throughout the whole park.

However, that ain't gonna happen this year. The park won't open up until June at the earliest, and visitation will be severely curtailed. It might not open at all.

So for the first time in more than a century, buffalo calves, wolf pups, elk fawns, etc. etc. are being born in a completely wild setting, without human interference. Birds, trees, plants, fish---no humans.

It's temporary, of course, but consider that it's happening in all of the world's wild areas and parks. No elderly couples chugging through in their 45-foot RVs. No crazed gun nuts terrifying the wildlife. No teenagers tossing firecrackers off cliffs. Just peace--and silence.

A recent poll of Yellowstone coyotes shows that 96% of them approve of the coronavirus.
