States rights or something

Remember when Republicasns said they want to limit abortion laws to the states?

Yeah, that was bullshit.   The pill thats been in use for 23 years is now illegal according to Trump appointed, activist judge.  Nationwide.

So to Republicans whose entire campaign for 2024 is "woke people"...good luck defending this shit.   And nominating the guy who appointed these judges.....and gave us all the fun activites on Jan 6.

I wonder if they even dimly realize that this anti-abortion crusade of theirs is going to hand the Democrats the House, Senate, and White House on a silver platter...not to mention state governorships, judgeships, etc. etc. etc. etc.?

I think they might have themselves convinced that (and I quote a conservitard who was at the Bloviator Cafe the same time I was) the only people who care about abortion rights are "Those slutty bitches who get knocked up and they're all liberals anyway." What they don't get is that there are millions of voters who are outraged by this shit even though it might not affect them personally. Just like back in the 1960s, the crackers never quite understood that there were plenty of white people who cared about black citizens' rights.

The cherry on the sundae will be the RepubliQ being stupid enough to stick the Orange Turd up there for a third time. They truly believe, apparently, that his first win was something other than a fluke and his subsequent beating was actually a win.

It will certainly help, but it won't hand the White House over on a silver platter. Nothing will with Biden/Harris as the Democratic nominees.

The problem with Trump being the overwhelmingly likely Republican presidential candidate in '24, and therefore the easiest Republican to beat in the general is that even though it is unlikely that he would prevail in the general , he *could* prevail if events broke his way in the fall '24 campaign.

Biden and Harris are weak and unpopular candidates who would likely lose to all the Republican potential candidates *except* Trump, but if Biden stumbled during the fall '24 campaign which is far from impossible or an October surprise wounded him, Trump *could* win and that would be the catastrophe of our lifetime, so rooting for Trump to be the GOP candidate is the highest of high stakes gambles.

As bad as DeSantis is, the country could survive four years of a DeSantis presidency. It would be ugly, but we'd pull through. A second Trump presidency, for so many reasons, would be the end of life as we know it.

Because of Biden's age, the spotlight would be on Harris much more than usual for a vice presidential candidate, and the possibility that she could very well blow it for the Democrats is another problem in addition to Biden's obvious vulnerabilities.

With respect to Trump, things are nowhere as sanguine as you make them out to be. In fact, they're downright terrifying.

Your entire post is a load of bullshit - you should be ashamed of yourself.

For saying things Millerscum disagrees with, you should be proud.

These days, voters make their choices much, much more on issues than on personalities. This actually probably would work in both Trump's and Biden's favor in a hypothetical 2024 matchup. Biden is a relatively weak personality President-wise, without a lot of charisma. But that won't hurt him as long as he sticks to his message(s) and focuses on the issues. Trump is, well...scum, and a total asshole. But that won't hurt him because MAGA "issues" aren't reality-based and he just has to parrot the same old drivel to get the adoring goobers in line yet again.

The tiebreaker, though, is that all the MAGA virtue-signaling shit: "kill all Mexicans," "stop the niggers from voting," "build pregnancy camps" and so forth, alarms and angers LOTS of people considerably more than it diddles the red baseball cap crowd. In other words: in 2024 at least, the motivation to vote will be MUCH stronger for Democrats and independents than it will be for MAGAs. And I think that will be the case whether it's Trump or Florida Man, and whether Biden and Harris run a good campaign or stumble. It won't really matter.

You see, it's good versus evil now, not competing ideologies. And the half-life of evil is relatively short. There is much more anger and alarm about the current RepubliQ efforts to destroy human rights and democracy than there is joy among the proto-fascist Trump disciples. And whatever energy they current have will wane--while on the liberal side, the fire will only grow hotter--especially if the MAGAs keep up with the virtue signaling and performative stunts that serve no purpose other than to hurt people.

And should you be right and the Trumpocalypse comes to pass? The ultimate result of that would be four more years of misery, true--unless someone blew his fuckin' head off, of course, or he just plain croaked--but then, Democrats would rule America for generations afterward. So, it's all good.

Keep this in mind: the nasty, evil shits who fellate Trump are old. The people who support diversity, inclusion, environmental stewardship, and common decency are young. In the long game, liberalism will crush RepubliQ fascism.
