The story of our national anthem

The story of our national anthem.

It was inspired by a young Mexican visitor who decided to attend a Yankees game. Unfortunately, he could only afford one of the cheap seats and didn't have a good view of the field...but all at once, the crowd stood up and sang, "Jose, can you see?"

Once again, another lie by Lying Lewis. ---  The lyrics to "The Star-Spangled Banner" were written on September 14, 1814, by American lawyer and amateur poet Francis Scott Key. He penned the poem, originally titled "Defence of Fort M'Henry," after witnessing the overnight British bombardment of Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland, during the War of 1812. -- The New York Yankees were offically named in 1913 -- Jose was not born prior to either of these events happening.

I've always gotten a kick out of the fact that our national anthem is a rewrite of an old British drinking song, and because of all the high Fs, it's almost impossible to sing properly.

Many moons ago, I took the National Park Service ferry and tour to Fort McHenry. A lot of fun, and the guide told us all sorts of cool historical facts, including why the fort was probably never going to fall.

There has never been a Park Service ferry to the fort as it is on the mainland. Drive to the fort and park your car in the lot

Another Kevin lie

It's a water taxi from the Inner Harbor, and is indeed run by the National Park Service, Tom, you nasty little, stupid fuck.

WRONG AGAIN & you said it was a ferry

The Baltimore Water Taxi service in the Inner Harbor is operated by Harbor Boating, Inc., a Baltimore-based maritime company that has been running harbor transportation since 1975
