The Supreme Court delivered a powerful victory for equal justice under the law by ruling that racial gerrymandering is unconstitutional.

The corrupt DemocRATs will have to find another way to cheat in elections. ---For years, some states manipulated congressional district lines based primarily on skin color rather than communities, neighborhoods, or shared interests. This decision ends the practice of dividing Americans by race to engineer political outcomes and reaffirms that the Constitution demands color-blind treatment in voting and representation.  ----  This ruling opens the door for fairer maps across the country that respect natural boundaries and actual communities instead of forcing racial quotas. Traditional redistricting principles can now take priority, giving voters more competitive and representative districts. It removes one of the left’s favorite tools for tilting elections through identity politics and levels the playing field for both parties. ---- Americans deserve elections decided by ideas and values, not government-mandated racial balancing. The Court’s decision strengthens the integrity of our House of Representatives and restores trust that our democracy reflects the will of the people. This is a win for the Constitution anMay be an image of text that says 'Defeat Democrats @DefeatDemocrats MASSIVE! SCOTUS ruled that RACIAL gerrymandering is UNCONSTITUTIONAL! This allow for Republicans to REDISTRICT and SAVE the HOUSE!'d a step toward unity over division.  ----

Apparently YOU think that DemocRATs should be allowed to cheat by illegally gerrymandering - I am not surprised.

Honestly I feel district lines should be set by zipcode or by city limits, or simiar. Basically looking at geography only. I also feel they should be mostly permanent, or I should say change very very rarely.

I'm sick of both sides of the aisle making district maps look like some sort of Rorshach test.

No complaints from you when Texas did this.

Why not?

How about simply abolishing Congressional districts?

Each state gets X number of representatives, based on the last census, just as it is now. But EVERYONE in the state can vote for ANY candidate.

Then the state would have representation that reflects the wishes of the majority of its electorate.

The corrupt Democrats have done this for years - all one has to do is look at the Blue states that have gerrymandered their states - the DemocRATs are the ones who started this shit and states, like Texas, decided to reassess the electorial district boundaries to see if they were fairly drawn - they wern't -  thus Texas reassesed the  boundaries, changed them and was found to have done them legally.  Face it, YOUR DemocRATs are corrupt and will and have done everything to cheat in elections because they have nothing to offer Americans.

The problem with that is in states like Washington you would have King county voters basically control all the representatives. King county voters and representatives don't necessarily know what's best for counties on on the coast or on the other side of the Cascades

If I were going to revamp things I would probably go back to each state getting one representative per x number of residents. (This would increase the size of the house). Maybe one representative for every 30k residents.

But instead of a traditional election a candidate would go around and get 30k registered voters to sign a petition stating they wish to be represented by that candidate. That candidate then becomes the representative for those 30k people.

All registered voters who choose to participate get to pick whatever candidate they want and nobody is represented by anybody they did not "vote for".

Simply a lie. No blue states did mid-decade redistricting before Texas did.

I don't see how that would be much different from what I'm proposing, if all candidates had to pass primaries. But either way, King County should largely dictate how the state is run because it has a large proportion of the state's voters.
