Im in favor of listening to people who know what they're talking about. That would be climate scientists in regards to climate. And that would be border experts in regards to border security. I dont have much regard for opinions from white power retards....which is where the president gets his ideas from
The experts have said walls do make an impact in certain areas....especially near population centers. In rural areas there are better means....especially with satelite tracking. And most of the issues Republicans use to hide their real problem (xenophobia) can be much better addressed by inspecting the legal ports of entry. That would be drugs, firearms, human trafficking. The overwhelming majority of containers are not inspected for these things....but they could be if mouthbreathers thought that was a priority over building a wall in the desert. There have been alot more drugs seized at the port of entry in El paso than have been recovered by shaking down refugees running through Arizona
And you still have the fact that half of the illegal immigrants gain access to the country the same exact way you do when you visit Cancun: They cross the border with a legitimate passport ....and then never go home.
But I largely dont have a problem with building a wall despite not thinking its an intelligent solution - all I ask is that its paid for ....with real tax dollars in the current budget (not accounting gimicks). I've yet to meet a fiscal hawk Republican that favors their taxes going up to pay for it.....they had the same philosophy about the Iraq War they suppported too. Thats a big reason why our debt is where its at.
People like Fritz shit their pants when Congress wants a 10 thousand dollar raise...but its ok to slap 40 Billion on the debt to put up a brick wall in the middle of the Rio Grande river.
