Tarriffs coming?

I honestly dont know how much the tarriff talk is fodder vs actual.    If we are seriously about to embark on a global trade war its probably a good time to stock up on those big ticket purchases now.

I'm buying a new gaming PC today ...and thats after a big shopping trip at Kohl's to update my wardrobe.    I bought a few extra of everything.   I now have a 5 year supply of socks, boxers, and jeans.   I hope I dont put on weight and outgrow them.    =)

I really need to upgrade my TV too...that might be a December purchase.   Lets see what the Black Friday deals look like.

I wish all good luck as we enter this new era.   May you live in interesting times.

I think I am going to pick up one if those M4 MacMinis and upgrade my phone. It looks like it may be my last oppertunity to upgrade in the next 4 years and the M1 is getting old.

Well, how much of Trump's talk is genuine and how much is just hot air...we don't know. Hell, HE doesn't know.

I for one welcome idiot tariffs, because the escalation in consumer costs will show all the idiots who voted for the Turd just how much of a mistake that was. Plus, it will accelerate the movement towards secession. Hail the Republic of Pacifica!

I recall when Liberals called for buying American.  I'm confused.

Those things aren't made in America and it is unlikely they ever will be made in America.  In most cases tariffs will simply mean no product availablity.  Who would cough up 5k for an American made Samsung or iPhone?

Sure, why would anyone buy made in America when China charges our companies huge tarrifs and we charge little to nothing.  This is not new.  Liberals have gone crazy...which explains the election.  Keep it up, girls.

Boilerman, how many times have you complained about liberal government sticking their hands into the free market economy and interfering with business?  You've come a long way haven't you?   How many times did you call Obama and Bernie Sanders communists for doing that kind of thing?   it just took Donald Trump to tell you its ok the make you become a commie yourself.

And as for buying American?   I'd Love to.   I bet you can use the fingers on one hand to count the items at Best Buy and Kohls that are made in America.    So until then you can pay the tarriffed price if thats what happens.    I think I'll go ahead and buy now just in case.

1) Conservatives were much louder about that than liberals, actually. 2) That was decades ago. 3) We are part of a global economy, and no nation, us included, can subsist on its domestic products alone. 4) We can and should buy American when those domestic products are as high quality and offer as good value as anything that is imported. That's not the case for a wide range of products.

I remember the "Buy American" bleat when Ford and GM were trying to sell us shit cars that wouldn't make it to 100,000 miles and cost more than the Hondas and Toyotas that you could drive for a decade. The US automakers painted buying their shit products as "patriotic."

People who don't have the ability to understand basic economic concepts--like Trump, like Boilerboob--tend to rail against free trade when it suits them and are rabidly fot it when that suits them.

I'm buying a 2025 Toyota 4Runner, the first complete redesign in 14 years, I can't buy it now because Toyota pushed  back the launch date until Spring 2025.

10% to 20% on $54,000 will be painful, maybe taking my cash purchase and forcing me into a loan for a portion of the purchase. Which would really suck, basically reducing my discretionary spending for a while. Which never happened to me in the last 4 years.

Stopped at free market.  This is not free market and you know it.  Why are you fighting for China?
