The fact is that MURDER, as you term it, was not committed here. Manslaughter was committed. The shop owner chased after the teens and grabbed for a gun one of them had. That's when the other stabbed him.

It is/was murder. Reaching for a gun that is aimed at you is not justification for murder - which is what she did. Murder definition; --What is the FBI definition of murder? The FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program defines murder as the willful (nonnegligent) killing of one human being by another.

Courts do not use the FBI definition of ANY crime to determine sentencing. Not even federal courts.
