Don't forget Trump just promised the pro-lifers a national 16 week abortion ban. Don't forget our resident conservatards swore they approved of getting rid of Roe because abortion is a states rights issue.

Idiotic to consider an embryo to be the same thing as a human being. It cannot exist independently.
And of course, if it does get implanted and becomes a Republican, it's not human then, either.
One of Alabama's major hospitals just shut down their IVF program because of this American Taliban ruling.

BUT - The Alabama legislature just passed a law saying IVF fertility treatment is not a criminal process which overrides their Supreme Court..
So is a zygote a human being subjected to the Bill of Rights and civil liberties? Or is it just a hunk of goo in a frozen test tube that can be tossed in the garbage if its not used?

It's simple, actually. There are some political races in Alleybammer that have actually become competitive due to this issue. The MAGA Taliban are worried that they might lose some portion of their absolute control. So, they're throwing the masses a bone. Like Big Brother increasing the chocolate ration.

Moreover its a case where Republicans put a judge on the court that was activist enough to make Clarence Thomas blush.
But it also raises a big point. If you truly believe a fertilized egg is a human being then IVF should be outlawed - because IVF by design destroys thousands of fertilized eggs as part of its process. But if you take IVF away then lots of die-hard Republican families cant have kids.
So we're left with their disposition being thus: Aborted embryos are murder. Discarded embryous from IVF arent. And I'll let you try to reconvcile the stupidity and hypocrsy of that position.
