Texas: fascism; California: democracy

The best illustration of the difference between MAGA fascism and Democratic democracy is how states are going about redistricting. Texas's legislature just rammed it through, without bothering to ask voters. Missouri is following suit. California, in contrast, will have a statewide referendum.

The MAGA moron excuse our resident Trump-licking shitbags are pooping out is that the Texas fascist move is in response to Democrat redistricting, and that MAGA has NEVER gerrymandered districts. Ever.

😄😄😄😄😄😄

I'm wondering what would happen if EVERY state drastically redistricted to favor the majority party. I for one favor wiping out the right to vote of all MAGAs. But we're too nice to do that here in Oregon. Likewise, I don't expect most blue states to do drastic redistricting, while I expect ALL red states to.

This is just another way our democracy is dying.

newsome ignored the required non-partisan redistricting commission, who actually drew the maps & the required 30 day review process.

As you were saying about Ca democracy

You can't even spell his name right, and we're supposed to believe you?

The truth is that Newsom is lawfully calling for a DEMOCRATIC process --the statewide referendum. He didn't ignore the commission at all--as you said, he's using the map they came up with.

God, you're stupid.

SAD kevin continues to ignore the truth.  The democrats own the court so they don't have to worry about that

He did ignore the commission, won't say who actually drew the map and ignored the 30 day review period.

Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom and state Democrats have proposed a new congressional map they say could give their party five additional seats. However, when pressed by reporters and Republican legislators on Tuesday, Democrats in the Legislature repeatedly sidestepped questions about who was behind the new districts.

How the map was created is beside the point. I'm talking about how it will or won't become law--via democracy instead of fascism, like Texas and Missouri.

Gerrymandering is unfair. But at least, if there's a referendum on it, we know that it's what the voters want. There's a reason why Texas went the fascist route.

What do YOU think, stupid Tom? Is it more democratic for a state government to ask its voters, or for them to just issue a decree?

Be sure to dodge the above question and say something idiotically irrelevant.

Funny now that Texas is doing what the DemocRATs have done in several DemocRATic governed states - Kevin and the corrupt DemocRATs are crying  - if Texas is "facist" then the DemocRAT states that are doing the same thing are also "facist" --- you can't have it  both ways...

Who drew the maps is important because they are supposed to be drawn by an independent commission.

SAD Kevin thinks it is ok for NE to draw maps so that there aren't any Republican congressmen.

SAD Kevin is upset because the Republicans are using the democrats playbook.

You keep yeeping that lie about New England, but the truth is that none of those states have areas that have a Republican majority and would make sense as a Congressional district, with the exception of Maine's 1st.

That there aren't any Republican Congressional representatives is due to the fact that New England leans heavily Democratic. YOU CANNOT PROVIDE ANY EVIDENCE TO BACK UP YOUR STUPID CLAIM..

Go digging in the ass of the Internet and show us a single instance of gerrymandering in NE in the last, oh, fifty years. I know you can't, so please weasel instead.

You can't provide any example of a Democrat state legislature changing five of the state's Congressional seats from Republican to Democrat. And you can't provide any example of a Democrat legislature not bothering to ask the voters for approval.

Texas. Fascist.

Soon, only Republican party candidates will even be listed on ballots in Texas. Fascism!

Kevin who has consistently shown he is an expert in nothing thinks he is an expert on the demos of Mass

Republican draw 35-40% of the vote. Central Mass is Republican but the democrats gerrymanded them out

Ct gets 40% of the vote. A fair allocation would have given the Republicans a few seats.
