David Miller is full of shit. He didn't even notice the receipt until I pointed it out.  He found a video that validated his bigotry and that's why it appealed to him. As the video cuts off it shows the woman running after the cart with the receipt held up. That's not something a thief that had just been caught would do. They would be fleeing scene before the cops showed up not chasing security holding up a receipt.

And if you examine that video closely, you will see that the TV is the ONN generic brand which is the cheapest brand of electronics Walmart carries.  A TV that size and brand will often be around $149.  Don't you think someone that was going to steal a TV would steal one of the premium brands that Walmart carries like Samsung?  They keep them in the aisles right next to each other.

And I challenge any of you to to make friends with an African American in their 20s and just spend the day walking around with them going in and out of stores.  My eyes were really opened. I could not believe in a diverse area like Las Vegas with all races of people, 80% of the time I'd walk into a store with baby she would immediately have all eyes on her. She took it well. She would act very humbly to not draw attention to herself. I asked her doesn't that bother you? She said I've dealt with it my whole life. People working in a store see a black girl come in and they assume that she's there to rob them.

Can you imagine growing up like that? What that would do to your self-esteem? Your personality development? It's horrific the way that African Americans are still treated in this country. 

Furthermore, no major American retailer would train their employees to violently confront a shoplifter, especially after they made it outside the store doors.  Even if she had shoplifted that stuff if the employees injured, her Walmart would be liable.

Actually, the training has been to not confront the suspect until they have exited the store.  The suspect can say they were planning to pay for the items.   Mark is right that Walmart and other retailers accept a certain amount of "shrinkage" and a confrontation can end up costing the store a lot more than a pack of cigarettes or a cheap TV.  This video could have been a made up job anyway.   But it still isn't right for one of any race or challenged upbringing to assume it is OK to take without paying.  Once you become an adult you know this without being reminded periodically.

OK, moron - I DID notice the so called receipt she was brandshing, but I did not know that it was required of me to point it out with my post. I am far from a bigot, and all that appealed to me was what I said about the video, namely, that kind of thieving shit does not fly in Texas. If she wasn't a thief, why didn't she take her "receipt" to a manager? Answer that. Large or small, what difference does the size of the TV make - And by the way, did you notice her size? She isn't big enough to carry/load a much larger TV. As far as "making friends" goes, what does that have to do with what happened? Face it, you were and are wrong about this whole scenario, and because of this fact, you now try the "race card" - a typical lying,liberal lawyer tactic. What an asinine concept - a thief is stopped from wheeling out a cart of stolen merchandise and the emoloyees are now guilty of not letting the thief leave - only happens in the fucked up blue, DemocRatic states and cities. Everyone reading the content of these postings on this topic knows who is the one "full of shit".

 Again, if the receipt was real and legit, why didn't she take it to a manager? If she had of done this and proven that she had PAID for the items, then she could get a lawyer ( not an ambulance chaser) and file for restitution. We all know why she didn't.

Sadly, this thread was about simple bigotry, like so many of David Miller's rants.

Mark, this is a scam that people have tried at Walmart.  My son worked the self check out at the Walmart in Bullhead City, and he encountered this working a late afternoon shift.  Customers will use a previous receipt, or find one in the parking lot, go in and get the items on the receipt, fake scan the items, and then try to leave the store.  They do this during times that the store is really busy so the checkout person is not as attentive due to helping other customers and the person checking the receipt doesn't look closely at it.  In his encounter with this, the person was using a receipt from three days before, with a time stamp in the morning.  The customer (thief) tried to bypass the receipt checker, who was able to get the receipt, and noticed the different time stamp.  He tried to detain the thief, who abandoned the cart and ran out the door.  

If this lady had a legitimate receipt, she would have not tried to run off with just a TV or left her whole cart of groceries, especially if she HAD actually paid for them.  She would have stood her ground and gotten her groceries, if she had a legit receipt.  

Now, if she had the actual legitimate receipt and she was being treated like that, then yes, she would have a nice lawsuit.  

My son also said that people will have a receipt, go get the items off the shelves and then go to the returns counter, to get reimbursed for the items they just picked up.  When people do this with a cartful of items, and they do, security can actually go back and look at the security tape of the time on the receipt and also look at the video of the customer walking around the store picking up the items and then going to the returns counter.  If customers do this with a few items, it's not that noticeable, but a cart with a lot of items does.   

      A post like this one from you is why you are hated by every decent person who accesses the forums. You twist the truth, you lie incessantly, berate, cuss out others, spew hatred and when called out, you accuse others of picking on you and you cry like a little bitch. For all of the education you claim to have acquired, you obviously have learned nothing about civil behavior. You think you are the ultimate authority about everything - you are not.
