Actually, I drive to work directly past a homeless camp. Every month, I go to Walmart and purchase basic toiletries in bulk and then bag them up and hand them out. Walmart sells them to me wholesale, as is their policy, so my $100 goes pretty far.

 

I'm sure you'd say I'm "enabling" them by doing that. I.know very well, though, that personal hygiene is a challenge when you live on the street. And at least half of these people have jobs.

 

So I could sneer at and demonize these people, or I could try to help them. I'm sure you would choose differently.
