That didn't take long--Elon jumps ship

Musk's claims about this bill likely compounding / adding to the  debt are probably right. I guess we'll see just how courageous the Senate is (or isn't) regarding this reconciliation. He sounds plain pissed off in all these related comments.

If you think the Senate Republipigs will act as anything other than drooling, subservient Turd lackeys, you haven't been paying attention. They'll bend over and spread their cheeks for him, just as they always have. There will probably be some pro forma mild grumbling about the bill's effect on the deficit, which will be answered by a proposed addendum cutting Medicaid even further.

I know you're a faithful disciple, Nines, but really ..do you honestly expect anything else?

Senate Republicans are the same animal as the Senate Democrats.  They are all dual citizens, working for someone else other than their constituents and have dozens of lobbyists fluffing them every day like a bukkake porn shoot.

I'm for term limits and a random selected person out of registered voters to take their place.

As usual you 'grouplump' prospective outcomes  according to your views alone..and you;re wrong a lot ( I have a spreadsheet). I'll buy you a big bucket of cannabis, a gallon of Boone's Farm Fuzzy Navel wine,   and a month's supply of microwave popcorn if Rand Paul, Ron Johnson, and Tom Massie vote yes on this bill from the House as it is without major alterations. If one more Senate Republican beyond those three vote no, it likely fails completely. If it somehow miraculously passes with changes then said bill with significant changes will have to go back to the House for alteration approval, which may blow the bill up entirely because of the tight vote history and sentiment of this legislation in the House ( it only passed by one vote in the House). You often leave out critical details in your Trump hatred based outcomes. Trump'll have to sweet talk, cajole, and make promises to the above Senators to get their yes vote on this bill as is.

Term limits would be lovely ( for me, you, and about 80% of the population)..but it won't happen without new legislation. These politicians are so self serving and desire long Congressional lives..they're not voting for it..either side..

You tell us that Trump will have to sweet talk, cajole, and make promises...but you left out "make threats." That's how he brought those recalcitrant House Republicans in line--right?

First of all...when have the House or Senate ever...EVER...defied the Turd and refused to pass major budget legislation? (In fact, I don't think they've ever resisted him on anything, but his concentration camp crusade may have hit a snag...I don't recall.)

Second of all, the objections raised are that the bill adds too much to the deficit. So do you think that the "modifications" pushed by the Senate Republipig rebels will be "Gee, maybe we SHOULD tax billionaires a bit more," or "We should cut Medicare even further"?

MAGA yeeps about the deficit, tiresomely blaming it on (insert pejorative adjective) spending while ignoring the fact that slashing revenue contributes to the deficit as well. Trumpiffs aren't going to make up for the gigantic revenue losses from the kissy kissy for the rich policy. You know this. The Republipigs know this. But dare they speak of it in above a whisper?

So yeah, The Big Fat Turd Bill may not pass without modification. It could easily be made even worse.

Oh, since you do claim to know everything about this topic, are you aware of the number juggling in the bill to make the deficit it will create look smaller than it actually will be?

I've never understood the term limits solution to corruption.     Freshmen Senators/congressmen can take bribes and special interest money just as easily as veterans.   And many lobbiests offer legislators high paying jobs when they leave office which is basically a bribe.    2 senators from my state in both parties followed that path.....Dan Coates and Evan Bayh now make 4 times as much money working for lobbying firms after serving them in the government.

get rid of special interest money and the revolving door of you want Congress to serve people instead of lobbiests.     Unfortunately the Robert's Supreme Court ruled money is free speech.

Musk is correct.  Trump getting exactly what he wants is impossible because all Democrats politicians and most Republican politicians are more interested in reelection than doing what's best for the country.

I'm not so sure Trump's intentions are good anymore after seeing all this Palantir injection into our government systems.  I keep my mind open, we'll see where that goes.  At this point it looks like he's working to get into play what the Democrats couldn't do, but I hope its not true.  I'll judge him by his actions, not his words.  Wait and see.

Never claimed to know everything about this bill..just a minimal history and a few hurdles. The number juggling..who knows? It's no doubt occurring but to what extent is unknown.

Hundreds of billions can be saved by eliminating all funding of sanctuary cities and states.
