This is exactly why Democrats don’t want the SAVE Act to pass!

The number of people the law disenfranchises is estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands.

The number of people who commmit voter fraud is in the double digit range nationally.

Republicans want to solve a problem that doesnt exist by disenfranchising people.   Thats the only way they think they can win elections.

The only thing disenfranchised are the people not interested in voting

We heard this line when Georgia put in voter id & participation went up

Time to give that false narrative up.

MATH isnt a narrative.

Something that confuses me is. If this is truly about ensuring the "security" of elections why shift the burden onto The People? Why not keep the burden with The State?

Every state has access to multiple ways of verifying that those who register to vote are eligible.

All states share birth certificate records with each other at request and there are federal databases to verify citizenship.

States can, should, and most probably do, verify voter eligibility using these sources. This can take place behind the scenes.

Would you be supportive of a law that instead of requiring people to bring documents to the registration office to register it required the State to verify the eligibility of anybody that registers? The State could do this by checking birth certificate records or federal citizenship databases.

The state would also be required to check registrations every x number of years to remove people who have death certificates and such.

The FBI just closed an investigation into illegal voting in Nevada--they found that 38  non-citizens  "may have voted ".   Of course, they may not have voted, they may have voted for Trump, or they may have bought a slurpy.  Your current FBI at work.  A lot of effort to find a crime that Trump alleges, but that no one can find.

Your statement about Georgia is meaningless unless you KNOW what voter turnout would have been in THAT election without the ID requirement.

And you don't.

Stupid Tom.

Your statement about disenfranchised people is petty, stupid, and grossly wrong.

Evil, stupid Tom.

There is no "security of elections" problem to be solved. The number of invalid votes cast in each and every election is vanishingly small: less than 1 in 100,000. The issue only exists because Diaper Donny whined when he lost in 2020.

Voter registration verifies citizenship and residency. The signature on the ballot confirms that the voter is on the registered voter roll.

Why on earth should we even consider changing that? It works!

So what liberals are saying that people who don't have proper id are to lazy to get it.

No, that's what YOU'RE saying. And everything you say is meaningless garbage.

Stupid Tom.

Do you remember the Trump-Biden debate back in September or October of 2020?  Trump went on a tirade about how he wouldn't abide by the election results because there were serious problems with election integrity, especially with mail-in ballots?  His strategy became pretty obvious at that moment.
