Lying is not a symptom of ignorance.  The difference between a lie and saying something that is untrue is the former implies the orator knows what he is saying is untrue and yet says it anyway.

Pete's industry lied about their ability to contain a blown pipe in deep water drilling...and the lied about whose fault it was when it happened....and then they lied about it being Obama's fault that their mess didnt get cleaned up in short order.

I have no doubt your friend knows his stuff...and I also have no doubt he lies alot.

No one ever claimed that Obama caused the spill.......at the blow out protector, not a pipe.  A pipe or imbillical would gave been far easier to fix.

Obama assumed that non-industry academic types would be smarter than oil industry folks.  Obama talked about Steven Chuck bringing this great gamma Ray technology to BP to save the day.

BP and all oil companies have been using gamma ray technology for decades.  They next had to explain why it could not be used with the situation at hand.  BP had a team of experts who wasted time baby sitting Obama's guys, instead of being productive.  BP threw so much manpower at the problem this waste of time didn't slow up the capping.  It just wasted tens of millions of dollars worth of manpower.

Another old boss of Pete's (not with BP) headed the team who physically capped the well with a submersible.

The BP debacle illustrates why the fossil fuel industry should be treated as a public utility--very tightly regulated and allowed to make only reasonable profits. They've never given a shit about the environment, because doing so affects the bottom line.

The oil companies submitted ahead of time what their plan was to address a blown pipe in the event of a deep water blowout.   IT was all a lie.   Because that plan didnt work...and documents were ultimately revealed that showed the oil companies knew it would not work.   But thats the lie they submtted ahead of time...and that lie was revealed in short order when  the oil companies  could not cap the well their lying plan said they could.

So when you say then (and now) the oil companies had the means to cap the well...well, you're lying.    

And this is no longer a debate worthy topic.   Courts rendered verdict and ordered restituion.   The defendants found guilty in those courts were all the people you and your buddy Pete said were innocent while you were pointing fingers at Obama and Michael Chu and all the other phantoms you blamed for the oil companies' disaster.

PJ, talk to me when you understand that it wasn't a blown pipe, but instead a malfunctioning BOP, aka Blow out Protector.  You don't have a clue what happened.

The spill was BP's fault, but you guys acting like you have a clue what happened and that they lied is BS.  You guys are too ignorant to have a clue, in even a vague sence. I'm very far from being an expert, but I know enough to know that you prove yourselves idiots every time this topic arrives.

Oh !  My apologies!  I used the semantically incorrect word.  And that was the whole point of the lawsuits..what the equipment was called - not who was responsible.

In summary, Boilerman and his expert friend claimed the failed "Blow our protector"  and the lack of a plan for handling a "failed blow out protector"  was Obama's fault (not the companies who administrated and submitted the false plan for the "Blow our protector").

And the courts said Boilerman and his expert friend were full of shit.
