Those "Learing" Centers Owners Riding High on Tax Payer Dollars

From the title of the thread I suspect the post about Newsum was the  intended first post.

He doesn't even look at his own shit before he posts it, then?

So you bitch about SNAP fraud in a state that isn't identified, and when that's pointed out to you, you run to Fakebook and scrape up some rando's babble about hospices in California.

For someone who bitch bitch bitches several times a day, your "topics' are sure inconsistent! What's your bitch? SNAP or hospices?

The Trump administration found roughly 14,000 people receiving food stamps while driving luxury cars—high‑end vehicles that most taxpayers working two jobs can’t even dream of. That’s not “helping the poor.” That’s abuse. Welfare should be a safety net, not a lifestyle subsidy for people gaming the system. Every dollar wasted on fraud and abuse is a dollar stolen from truly needy families and from taxpayers already getting crushed by inflation, rent, and groceries. Was it 14,000 or 12,000?

You could get used vehicles from luxury brands for a few thousand dollars.

Fraud definitely exists and should be investigated, but I'm willing to bet that most of those are legitimate.

I suspect somebody may have it backwards.  Luxury car owners may be able to 'qualify' for SNAP benefits.

Candy, Candy, Candy, don't buy into the stupid MAGA propaganda memes!

First of all, as has been pointed out, a used so-called "luxury" car may be worth relatively little. Hell, it might not even run.

Second, while assets and resources do count when qualifying for SNAP, one's primary vehicle does not. So there's no "fraud," even if that vehicle is valuable.

Third, while David's raving copied and pasted post claims what "the Trump administration found," there's no evidence and no claims to support that 14,000 number. The originator of that screed pulled that number out of his ass.

But come on...do you really give any credibility to the idiot meme of people living luxury lifestyles while collecting a few hundred dollars in SNAP benefits? Why would anyone who is actually well off even do that? Commit multiple felonies for a pittance?

This idiotic claim reminds me of the KABILLIONS OF ILLEGUL VOTURS meme. Why would anyone do it?

Kevin, you totally misunderstand my point.  But that's OK, because I probably didn't make it sufficient to be understood.  Sort of goes along with one theory, 1) that luxury owners may be driving a used one, refurbished, previously wrecked, went for $450 at a used car lot, etc.  NNTAWWT.

OTOH, I worked with parents who bragged that their college kids were able to get Food Stamps, aka SNAP.

OK, maybe that is a qualifier, which again would be fine with me IF it is a qualifier.  So, if somebody's kid is pre-law at Harvard, does he qualify for SNAP.  Where is the line drawn?  Just thoughts.

Kevin, I have no idea what MAGA means, other than the wording of the acronym.

Again, I'm not on either side of most arguments debated here in KS...depending on facts.  I like to explore what is behind things that people get stirred up about.  That's all.

Ah, I see the old racist meme of the welfare queen driving to pick up her welfare check in a Cadillac has resurfaced.

If the government wants to save money the first place to look is the billion dollars a day they are spending to fund their "excursion" in Iran. The second place to look is the ten million dollar settlement the government is paying to Trump where Trump gets to decide how much to pay himself. The third thing to look at would be the 400 million Trump wants to finish his new Epstein wing of the White House.

At least Americans know where and why the money being spent on the Iran situation is going, contrary to the billions of tax payer dollars that have disappeared due to fraud in Minnesota, California and other states for years - with no stoppage in sight. All of the other diverting expenses you bring forth here are nothing more than moronic talking points when compared to the fraud of billions of tax payer dollars by DemocRAT controlled states and cities as they steal, give to illegal aliens, and to pad their pockets.

Not saying it is super common but it definitely happens. Sometimes a pimp or drug dealer. Also it is sometimes someone with polluted thinking such as a drug addict, alcoholic, or someone with mental health issues.

One small anecdotal example I can give is not as egregious but is technically fraud. I used to work security in downtown Seattle. I once got into a conversation with a panhandler.

Turned out he was actually averaging significantly more per day than I was. Almost as much as the supervisor , tax free, and was on assistance. Unfortunately, he was also a drug addict so that's where it all went.

In many cases yes that college kid can qualify. When assessing eligibility for benefits they do not look at family assets they look at individual assets.

In some states money from a trust fund or from others that is used to directly pay for education is exempt. So the family trust could be paying in full for Harvard tuition, textbooks, and other supplies (other than food and shelter) and that student would still qualify.

Sometimes when fraud occurs it is a young adult with no assets of his own qualifies but then his rich family starts giving him money or credit cards and that goes unreported.
