I'm curious about what the Trump supporters in the audience think about why he took those records in the first place. What was his intent? I can't think of anything innocent. Also, if he supposedly declassified them, why would the President ever declassify defense plans, nuclear strategy, identites of covert operatives?

I find it funny that, while President he had access to all of the claimed documents and many other documents of the same type, which no one had a problem with. Why he retained them, I don't know. The one thing everyone seems to forget is that in the 2+ years since leaving office he did nothing with them that could be considered unlawful. This is just nothing but ANOTHER attempt by the DemocRats to discredit him, as they have done repeatedly the past 7+ years. I expect for more of the same as the 2024 elections come closer.

It's most likely a very clumsy attempt to remove documents that Trump thought could incriminate him in any of dozens of potential criminal investigations. He knew very well that he had committed dozens of prosecutable felonies while in office, and he was trying to cover his tracks. Unfortunately for him, due to his fetish for hiring sycophants and lackeys rather than competent people, the document theft was botched.
