Those results keep rolling in, I love the CHIPs act

Apple and TSMC start production of previous iPhone chips in the US | Cybernews

"“The fact that they went for the most advanced chip they could manage on US soil, in terms of both technology and volume, shows Apple and TSMC want to start big,” Culpan said.

“Six months ago, I thought Apple might tap Arizona for a less consequential chip like the H-series used in AirPods. I was surprised when I heard it was the A16.”"

"The fab in Arizona will receive up to $6.6 billion of direct funding under the CHIPS and Science Act, according to a non-binding memorandum signed in April. TSMC said it will invest more than $65 billion in Arizona and will produce the most advanced leading-edge semiconductors in the US."

Apple has over $60b in cash & TSMC has $50b

tom, I can't believe you or anyone else would advocate that government subsidies should be based on "need." That sounds amazingly socialistic.

Those companies have over $100b in cash. It shows the chops act is a waste of money.

Let these companies fund their own expansion.

They would, in Taiwan, the CHIPs act creates a incentive to manufacture them here. It could at some point be a national security issue. The alternative would be tarrifs to try and force onshoring.

tom, in general, Democrats believe in investing in the American people and Republicans don't. That's why for the last net 51 million jobs created in this country, 50 million were created under Democratic presidencies and only 1 million created under Republicans.

So let's agree to disagree on whether we should invest in our fellow Americans. But tom, maybe you would prefer... Somalia?

Investing in American industry is so liberal radical radical liberal commie SOOOOCIALIST. I can see why stupid Tom objects.

How come capital markets didnt create that manufacturing for the 50 years prior?

And how come your capital markets bullshit doesnt apply to the special tax treatment fossil fuel companies like Exxon get?
