Time to get it over with

There's more than enough evidence to impeach. And there will never be enough evidence to make Republicans and Trumpers admit that Trump's a criminal and a traitor. So why drag this out--the case is made. Vote to impeach, send it to the Senate, and let Moscow Mitch and his slaves put party before country.

Then the Democrats can start the process of prying the vulnerable senators out of office. That's the whole purpose and point of the impeachment proceedings--not to get rid of Trump, that's never going to happen--but to expose the loyal Trump lackeys in the Senate for what they are. So Pelosi & Co. should just wrap it up and hand it to Moscow Mitch.

Retaking the Senate is a long shot at best--Democrats have to pretty much go 4 for 4 in the most vulnerable red states and not lose any of their own vulnerable seats. Taking the White House is likely, given that whoever winds up opposing Trump will have the advantage of running against the most loathed sitting President in history.

That's another reason why I don't want Trump removed from office--then we'd have President Pence. Let's instead see the Orange Asshole go down in flames, as the fluke of 2016--the loser somehow "won"--won't be repeated.

If Trump does get reelected, our democracy is doomed, and many Republicans realize that as well as all the Democrats. When push comes to shove, a lot of lip-service Trump loyalists won't want to vote for a traitor, criminal, rapist, and con man.

Our Trumpers, of course, will still line up to lick his balls. But they're irredeemable deplorables.

IMO the best strategy would be to hold. Trump is back on heels staggering now so we might as well keep him there. Go to court to get those subpoenas for Pence, Pompeo, Bolton, Rudy and Mulvaney to appear and testify enforced. Let Trump drag it into the election with his delay tactics. Let him deal with debate questions over and over as to why he is actively obstructing justice.

Reporters will continue to ask him about it every day. Democrats can legitimately say they are waiting for all the facts before they make a judgment. Trump can scream and shout witch hunt all he wants but even the dumbest bumpkin conservatives won't be able to understand why he won't let his closest advisors testify so they can exonerate him. Keep in mind they truly believe he innocent and that these first-hand accounts from his inner circle will clear him.

In other words, keep punching the bully in the stomach until he drops. 

If you go right now, he will get impeached in the House and the Senate won't remove him from office even though the evidence is overwhelming. A week later the press will move on to something else.  There will hardly be any mention of it in the debates. Plus, the biggie is he will keep cheating and there is a good chance his cheating will push him over the top.  Hell, I think there are some scenarios out there where Trump could lose the popular vote by 10% and still win the electoral college.  

Oh, and if he gets caught committing crimes again before the election, which is likely, we are left with the quandary as to what to do about it. 

Also, I think the Rudy, Igor and Lev investigation will continue to bear fruit that can be used in the Impeachment Inquiry. There is a good chance Rudy will be arrested within the next month.

The monumental event that changed the dynamics was the Dems winning the house in the midterms, it was huge.  Moderate Dems won in purple states.  Now we have put those moderate Dems in jeopardy and for what?

The Dems have a knack for shooting themselves in the foot.  We nominated the one person that couldn't even  beat Trump.  If the GOP regains the House and keeps the Senate and Trump gets a second term, (Russia will most certainly meddle again, it worked well for them in 2016), there will be no checks and balances.  Our country is in deep trouble. It will become more divided.  That is what Russia wants.

It is apparent that Trump is largely inadequate, mentally, emotionally, intelligent wise, and morally to lead this country.  It's been reported that even republican elected officials and members of Trump's own staff and cabinet members have echoed the same thoughts.  Hopefully, if we survive this nightmare, these same people will speak publicly and reveal the facts about Trump.

You are very astute,  How you knew that my sanity was questionable is amazing.  I thought the only people that had a clue were, wives, girl friends, members of law enforcement, D.A.'s, Judges and VA phychiatrist's.

On the semi serious side, I do have a question, Have you ever questioned Trump's, honesty, morals, integrity, intelligence or grasp of correct grammar, through his actions and words, spoken or written? 

I asked Stalker directly whether he thought that Trump had ever lied. He repeatedly weaseled out of answering the question. He's a moral and intellectual coward. He's also refused to respond to crriticisms of his hero's morals, integrity, and the other things you mentioned. I find it hard to believe that any sane person would LUVVVV Trump the way he does. In Stalker World, anybody who doesn't see things the way he does is insane--also a liar, no-good rat-fink, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. Be thankful that you don't live in Stalker World!

But to respond to what you said, yes, our democracy is in existential danger. People like Stalker, amazingly, are all too common. They will happily ride the Trump barrel over Niagara Falls. Trump will be emboldened if he wins and complete the task of cementing himself and Republicans in absolute power. There will be no going back.

The sad part is that Stalker and the other Trumper idiots will stand on the sidelines and cheer as this happens. They infect our democratic process with their worship of a wannabe tinpot dictator. They weaken and subvert our institutions by cheering for a man who is actively working to destroy them. They're the real problem in this country, and just like the cretins who cheered at the Nuremberg rallies, may very well be the architects of its destruction.

I don't follow how we put moderate Democrats in jeopardy?  As far as the House goes, it is unlikely we will lose seats there. Even in a worst-case scenario election for Democrats, we are likely to increase the number of seats we hold in the House. The Republicans see this as there have been 20 Republican retirements most of them moderates in purple or blue districts that know their chances of getting reelected in the Trump era is non-existent.

Recent elections in Kentucky, Virginia and Lousiana held after impeachment show record-high turnout for Democrats and wins in blood red and purple states. 

As to nominating the person who couldn't win the last time, I am not so sure I agree. IMO She couldn't win because of her middle of the road offend no one policies. I remember on health care she said the best we could hope for under her were little bitty tweaks on Obamacare and that was only if we were really lucky. Any type of corporate issues or tax issues were a we don't want to rock the boat. I think this is a sure loser strategy regardless of who presents it Hillary, Joe Biden, Mayor Pete or klobuchar.

To the extent that Trump got independent and some Democratic votes in 2016, it was because he promised radical changes, a universal healthcare system that would cover everyone for less, he was going to get tough on Wall Street and so on. Now, of course, he has governed like a far-right conservative but if the Democrats present a platform that offers real change as opposed to the middle of the road status quo shit they stand a really good chance of winning. If they run a 2020 campaign on the same let's not offend anyone routine, I will not vote for their Presidential candidate as I am done with wimps.

As I see it, the difference between how the two parties currently govern is as follows. 

Republicans - While maniacally laughing they say, we are going to screw you so hard, because rich guys and big corporations need more money and you are going to provide it. 

Democrats - Oh, there is no question you are going to get screwed. We already conceded that point. However, we are working really really hard to get the Republicans to agree to provide you lube before you get screwed.
