I guess you object to children, the elderly, the disabled, etc. etc. getting "free shit" like food, clothing, and shelter. When you had a child, did you look down at her in her crib and say, "No more free baby food for you unless you go out and get a job"?
Liberalism is about, among other things, redistributing wealth to make sure that people don't starve, die of a treatable medical condition, or freeze to death. Yeah, that costs money. So what? Is letting people die a preferable alternative? I know that for most conservatives, the answer to that question is "Hell, yeah!" I can't get on board with that--but obviously, you can.
