-When you think of Soviet-style book bans, which US political party do you think of, Republicans or Democrats?
-When you think of Communist PURGES of government workers (hint: Project 2025), which US party do you think of?
-When you think of Communist attacks on private businesses for political reasons (hint: Disney), which US party do you think of?
-When you think of Communist control of the media, such as promises to prohibit some from publishing or broadcasting, which US party do you think of?
-When you think of Communist Chinese Mao-style cult worship of its leaders, which US party do you think of?

Though, be careful...none of those moves were those of actual communist governments. They were measures taken by authoritarian dictatorships styling themselves as communist governments.
Probably the closest we've ever seen to an actual communist government is Cuba. And while it's definitely a dictatorship, it's impressive what they've done with so little wealth and a decades-long trade embargo.
