Today's Super Bowl is greately anticipated by millions of people here in America, and to a degree, elsewhere in the world. But, for billions of others who are on Earth, it means nothing. Think about that. The hype of today's game generates billions of dollars for the NFL, the team owners and the players - mostly funded by "fans". After all of the years and after all of the games played in the past, one would think that the actual play of the teams on the field would decide who wins. The games are being governed by "rules" and the "officiating" of said rules. There is instant replay, multiple camera angles and still there are controversies as to what has happened. Why is this? Many games in the past have been decided by inadvertant whistles, not reviewable questional plays, questional officating, bad officating, blatent bad calls - all having a direct effect on who wins or loses. Why, after all of the years and with all of the technology available, does this continue to happen? Today's game will be no exception - rest assured. I, for one, no longer watch this abomination of a once great game. The "winner" today will be praised by many and with the now acceptable destruction of the winning city as "fans" act out with their "joy". Billions of wagered dollars will change hands as winners collect and losers lament. The "talking heads" sportscasters will give their opinions and make excuses for what happened while dissing the losing team/coaches. Meanwhile, the rest of the world will continue to go about their business, oblivious to the madness that occurs today. Think about that...
