When is the last time that legal hush money has been prosecuted as a campaign crime?

I don't know. Maybe hush money crimes aren't all that common. Let's hope so anyway.

But 2008 Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards was.

Um, because Edwards paid with campaign funds.  Trump did not.

Nope, he asked rich friends to support his mistress in order to keep the liaison secret--a direct payment to the mistress, not a contribution to the campaign.   The government then argued that the money was, thus, campaign contributions which should have been reported.  Trump used his money--funneled via Cohen--to pay off the porn star so she would keep quiet during the 2016 campaign.  Then he falsely reported it as "legal fees" when it was truely in the service of the campaign.

I do find it interesting that the party of "family values" and "character counts" doesn't seem to care about the root activity:  he cheated on his wife--who recently had his son--with a porn star and then paid her $130,000 to keep quiet; then he hid that payment by having Cohen pay her off and then repaid Cohen reporting it as "legal services."  Your so called moral standards seem to be remarkably flexible--at least when it comes  to Trump.  You constantly degrade yourself in service to a completely despicable human being who has not one redeeming characteristic.

2018.

Michael Cohen went to prison after pleading guilty and naming his accomplice - President Trump.

How else can I help?

Not according to all of the witnesses that will be testifying against him.....Michael Cohen, Jefferey McConney, Stormy Daniels and Keith Davidson (all registered Republicans by the way).

And the fact he used his lawyers and a  shell company to make the payment shows consciousness of guilt.

He's a sleazy crook.
