Tonights Prime Time television options

The major networks will be televising the annual State of the Union address as brought to you by the president.

Another option is this 1972 gem on Turner Classic Movies.    It was robbed of the best picture award  by The French Connection.

Ahhhhh, . . . PJStroh brings back fond memories of little DonDiego's youth, . . . watching lots and lots of American International Pictures even better than Blacula.

DonDiego lived in a small town, . . . which for reasons little DonDiego never could understand had a full-size movie theater right in the middle, . . . within walking distance of DonDiego's house.  DonDiego saw lots and lots of movies on Saturday afternoon, . . . even double features.  All for a dime, . . . until DonDiego turned 13-years-old when the price went up to 25-cents.  (Plenty of the youngsters in town stretched that 10-cent admission well into age 13 or more, . . . but the lady in the ticket booth asked how old DonDiego was within 2 weeks after his 13th birthday !  (Dammit !) )

Anyway the theater ran lots and lots of American International Pictures like "It Conquered the World", "Invasion of the Saucer Men", "The Amazing Collosal Man", "The Angry Red Planet", etc., etc., etc.

All superb entertainment ! ! !

n.b.  DonDiego has never actually seen  "Blacula", . . . it was released after DonDiego had left his birthplace for the Big Wide World.  Maybe DonDiego will watch it tonight.

Thanks for the memories, anyway !

There's a drive-in movie theatre on a farm about 20 miles outside of Indianapolis.     The guy who owns it is a massive exploitation flick fan.   He has festivals every year where he gets lots of the classics from that genre.

He played this one on my last visit:  Women in Cages

What's the difference? Bloodsucker the movie or bloodsucker the pretend president?

Aww, Robert, stay out of this nice movie reminiscing, please.

No Blacula on our TCM tonight.  My favorites start at 11:30 pm, The Letter with Bette Davis, then Mildred Pierce, and so on.  I'll be asleep by then.

But if I can wake up by 7:15 am tomorrow, they have "The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T."  Little Bart has a bad dream about a piano teacher forcing 500 boys to play a huge keyboard.  Scary stuff.  Ha.
