That's one of the many things I like about Portland. We have a lot of park acreage, as well as landscaping in public areas. People don't make messes where it's clean and green. And a lot more money than other cities, proportionately, goes into maintenance and environmental care.
That's one of the things you get when the population is strongly liberal. We're tree huggers. So we have lots of trees.
Also, we have a collective behavior and courtesy ethic. People are nice here. I think that has a lot to do with the cleanliness.
