Qatar is giving him a shiny new Air Force One, complete with trappings fit for a sheik. Look for a juicy favor to be given to them soon.

I don't think any president can accept a personal gift from another country.   A box of the cigars from Cuba,  cool, but a big airliner?  Doesn't he need permission from Congress?  Now if Qatar is giving it as a gift to the US, ala the Statue of Liberty from France,  then that's different.   Anyone have a clue on this?

If he needs such permission, he'll certainly receive it from his lapdog Congress. The real question, though, is whether the Turd or anyone else can accept and use military equipment from another country. AF One would certainly be that. And what if THEM FEELTHY AY-RABS implant some code in the plane's onboard computers that would allow them to make it plummet from the sky on a single command?

There are too many ethical and security questions here. A real President would politely refuse the bribe.

here's the kicker.    Taxpayers will spend 100 million dollars retrofitting it with Air Force 1 tech....and then spend taxpayer money to remove it when Trumps term ends whereupon it will be his plane.   

how many government workers were removed from their jobs because " we couldn't afford to pay their salary".   How many of those jobs would the taxpayer cost of this gift pay for?

It would be a huge violation of government ethics, IMHO.  I wouldn't think it equivalent to the gift of the Statue of Liberty, which can be said is of benefit to all Americans (and all immigrants???).

Presidential gifts belong to the country hostorically...which is why they all have a permanent residence in the White House or museum.    This gift is not a gift to the US. It's a gift to Donald Trump.   And it's his when he leaves office.   

But if you are holding your breath for the Hunter Biden hounds to call out this ethical violation you will die of suffocation.

Well, you pointed out the difference yourself. Trump's new plane will essentially always be for his personal use, in office and after he leaves office. The Statue of Liberty is a monument, and not given for the benefit of any particular person or persons.

Any other President would have instantly refused such an offer; you're right, it's a huge violation of ethics even if it IS technically legal. Certainly, it's a bad look! Trump gets a shiny new plane and now he owes Qatar a favor. Lawmakers aren't supposed to accept bribes, for that very reason--their decisions shouldn't be influenced by outside parties.

I'm sure that Millerscum, Boilerboob, stupid Tom, dumb Iggo, Fox Nooze, Hammity, and all the rest will come scrambling to the defense of the Turd on this spectacular bribe. It's inevitable. In response, I would only ask: wouldn't all you scumbags have been up in arms if BIDEN had received a new Air Force One from another country? Gee, wouldn't you?
