Trump accepts bribe of fancy new luxury jet

The Emoluments Clause of the Constitution sheds a bad light on this plane gift without Congressional involvement / approval; it's not a good image move regardless.

The one thing that no one has said is that President Trump did not seek or ask for this offer of a new airplane - but he, and he alone, is the brunt of the manufactured criticism. This issue is nothing more that an excuse by the media and the corrupt DemocRats to try to find fault with President Trump. Just what has he done wrong? He is being forthright and transparent. Whether the airplane is accepted - or not - remains to be seen. Either way, the media and the DemocRats will milk this for all they can, but in the end it will be up to Congress to decide what happens. Meanwhile, the lunatic liberals who post here in the Sink will continue to spew their unfounded lies and asinine rhetoric.

Despite my earlier lengthy diatribe on "gifts", I'm also recalling a controversy regarding one or more 'exotic' pieces given to Obama, and probably some to-and-from head of state gifts, something of cultural value at least, a rare piece of porcelain or other art, something representative of the giving country.  It seemed to be expected of heads of state to exchange such things when visiting or received a visit from another HOS, probably procedurally accounted for in some way.  Those always made the news, tho I don't recall anything equivalent to a jet plane being the gift.  Who/what is the official 'recipient' and for what purpose?

From what I've heard, Boeing was supposed to deliver 2 refurbished 747s for Air Force 1 in 2018, but they were unable to deliver and now the costs are billions in arrears and a delivery in 2035 or something ridiculous.  I'm guessing this is a play to get a fire under their butts since the current fleet is ancient.

No it is corruption. They are giving Trump a 400 million dollar  ✈️ for his exclusive use. It will take years to retrofit it for air force one level security and communications just like jets we are currently waiting on.

It is likely it won't be ready until Trump's term is close to expiring and then it will be converted to his exclusive use and they will have to take all that stuff they just put in out. It is expected to cost the taxpayers 150 million dollars to retrofit Trump's "gift". And we are still buying those planes from Boeing.

What I know for certain is I'll never take anything a Trump voter or supporter says about Democrats being corrupt seriously because we are seeing an off the charts level of corruption right now that has never been seen before and will likely never be seen again.

That was my thought in the second post in this thread.  Nothing can happen without Congress' approval.  Let's just wait and see what happens.  But Trump does seems pretty anxious and excited about the gift.....can't blame him.  If someone wanted to gift me a 747, I'd say yes, too.  But then again, I'm not under Congressional oversight.

This diatribe is nothing but the continued moronic musings of a TDS infected lunatic. Can anyone post just one example of a past post Mark has made concerning President Trump that was actually found to be true?

Seems pretty clear to me.  Another fake news story

President Donald Trump said he would not use a luxury jet being offered by the Qatari government after leaving office amid criticism over his administration’s consideration of using the plane as the next Air Force One. “It’s not a gift to me; it’s a gift to the Department of Defense,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Monday.

Does that mean it stays at the DOD after Trump leaves office? What use does the DOD for a luxury jumbo jet that is decorated like a high end brothel?

What it means is exactly what it says - get a second grader to explain it to you.
