Trump And Fox News Think The Eagles Are Dirty Birds

First Trump disinvites the Eagles to the White House a day before they were to arrive citing Eagles players protesting the National Anthem as the reason why.  The problem was no Eagles player protested during the National Anthem during the regular season or post-season.  Then Fox News jumped on the bandwagon showing pictures of several Eagles players kneeling on the field saying they were protesting.  The problem was the pictures they showed were of players kneeling in prayer before the game not protesting during the National Anthem. 

I have to wonder what our Trump voting resident Eagles fan thinks now that his President and favorite News channel has crapped all over his team.  

President Trump wrote: "The Philadelphia Eagles Football Team was invited to the White House. Unfortunately, only a small number of players decided to come, and we canceled the event."

Only about 10 Eagles players said they would go. Each NFL team has 53 players on their roster, not including the practice squad. As a "team", they made a mockery of the invitation BEFORE Trump canceled the event. I don't blame him at all for doing that. It is an honor to be invited to the White House, no matter who is in office, and the "team" took a collective crap on the invitation.

Fox acknowledged their mistake and apologized for it.

DonDiego is saddened that so few Eagles team members accepted the invitation, . . . and saddened that the event was cancelled. 

DonDiego cautions Mark not to be overly concerned for poor old DonDiego's mental health.  DonDiego is getting used to being saddened by world events generally.

F'rinstance, the best President in DonDiego's lifetime was Dwight D. Eisenhower, . . . and as he was only 4 years old, DonDiego could not even vote for him.

 I cant imagine why the Eagles didn't want to show up.

Perhaps because they spent the past year having their patriotism questioned  by a draft dodging coward that ridiculesf Vietnam POWs.    I might have gone anyway - depending if the NCIS episode is a rerun tonight. 

If the handful of Eagles had shown up, Mark's headline would have been Eagles embarrass

Trump.

As usual in Mark's eyes, President Trump can't win; even though almost 60% of the country agree with him on the national anthem.

Meanwhile, in real news, we find out yesterday that Obama allowed Iran access to the US financial system even though there were sanctions in place prohibiting it & Obama said it would not happen.

The Obama administration granted a license letting Iran access the United States financial system despite officials’ pledges that they would prohibit it, according to a draft report from the Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.

“On Feb. 24, 2016, the Treasury Department issued a specific license to Bank Muscat to authorize the conversion of Iran’s rials to euros through ‘any United States depository institution …,’” the draft report said. Even after the specific license was issued, U.S. government officials maintained in congressional testimony that Iran would not be granted access to the U.S. financial system.”

“The Obama administration during the negotiation of the Iran deal misled the American people,” said Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), subcommittee chairman. “I think they did so because they were desperate to get a deal.”

Thats right, Tom.  Republicans in Congress (the same ones who spent three years chasing high crimes and misdemeanors in Bengazhi) have a new partisan accussation with an equivalent  basis in fact which you are referencing.  As usual their investigation did not include the people who were directly involved with that which they were investigating.  Sound familiar?     They're counting on people like you to take them at their word - its worked well for them in the past and now also in this instance.
