It doesn't get more cruel than this. SNAP has emergency funds to pay out benefits for another month.
Trump says, "Screw the kids I am not going to use the emergency funds. Those little bastards who don't pull their own weight can starve for all I care. Hell, send all the kids to me I will put them
to work in my spa. I can pimp them out to my billionaire friends and they will be able to buy their own food.
I wonder if Trump/MAGA even dimly realize the horrible optics here. They apparently think they can blame the Democrats yada yada, but that won't fly--the Republicans control the entire government.

Except that there is no "clean bill." That's part of the Republican grift. The CR can have additional riders and clauses attached to it after it's passed in the Senate...because it'll go back to the House anyway. Then they can slap something on it like a 95% Medicaid reduction...and blame the Democrats for objecting.
We have to accept that ALL government aid programs will eventually be completely destroyed and that in the richest country in the world, millions will die of hunger and treatable medical conditions. But the emperor will have a new gold ballroom.

SNAP has a dedicated reserve fund which will fund SNAP for another month. Trump has refused to release it he thinks starving poor white MAGAs will politically benefit him.
