Trump Celebrates And Brags That Prices Are About To Get Even Higher

David, does Fox News and Forbes work for you?

The Fox links stated - President Donald Trump suggested that the "full benefit" of tariffs has not yet been realized because their impact has been blunted by stockpiles of goods amassed to avoid paying the tariffs— but he suggested that those stockpiles are dwindling and the full force of his tariffs will soon take hold. "Despite the massive amount of money being made by the United States of America, Hundreds of Billions of Dollars, as a direct result of Tariffs being charged to other countries, the full benefit of the Tariffs has not yet been calculated in that many of the buyers of goods and products, in order to avoid paying the Tariffs in the short term, ‘STOCK UP’ by purchasing far more inventory than they can use," Trump declared in a Monday morning Truth Social post. "That heavy inventory purchase is now, however, wearing thin, and soon Tariffs will be paid on everything they apply to, without avoidance, and the amounts payable to the USA will SKYROCKET, over and above the already historic levels of dollars received," --All of which will be true. But I don't see the link to Truth Social to which you said be was "bragging" - that was not bragging, it was just stating facts. Your spin -"Bragging in the Christmas season about how your policies are going to cause prices to climb even higher isn't a winning political strategy. I guess Republicans are going to run on, we think things are too cheap, so we want you to pay even more for everything." -- saying is isn't a winning strategy is asinine. It is not a "strategy" is is/was a statement of facts.

It is indeed a strategy, albeit an incredibly STOOOPID one. The Turd wanted to raise consumer prices--and he has.

As you suck his dick so lovingly, you may have missed his true motivation, which even he knows not to state too often: to stick it to the people who didn't vote for him. Remember when he said he didn't care about SNAP recipients because they're all Democrats?

Can you explain how stripping billions from American consumers' pockets is "making money"? Of course you can't!

You make yourself look foolish defending everything that Trump says and does.

You really are insane. Where did President Trump say he wanted to raise consumer prices?  President Trump never said "he didn't care about SNAP recipients because they're all Democrats" - aother lie. There has been no stripping of billions from consumers pockets - like what happened in 2021-2024 under YOUR brain dead president Biden - remenber the 9% inflation, you moron?

Consumers pay the tariffs as they are a tax. Justice Alito said so in the tarrif case that was argued back in November. So if the supply of pre-tariff goods is depleted then it is as Trump says there will be no escaping his new tax on the people and prices are about to go up a lot more.

Tariffs are a sales tax. Only an idiot* would claim otherwise.

*Like Trump and Davey Dog

It's also similar to "regular" sales tax in that the tax is ostensibly paid by the seller but in actuality, the cost is passed on, so it's paid by the buyer. As with sales taxes, the cost of tariffs can be absorbed by the seller but in practice, almost never is.

And let's take a look at that "restocking" process. Will Canada, Mexico, China, etc. be particularly eager to sell us their stuff after Trump has shat on them? I doubt it. I suspect we'll be paying a premium to buy the stuff they were previously eager to sell to us. They're all trading with each other now and giving Trump the finger.
